Ackee is derived from the original name Ankye which comes from the Twi language of Ghana, Said to be brought to Jamaica by slaves during the Slave Trade, Jamaica is the only Place where the Fruit is widely eaten, Ackee is a very delicious fruit and when boiled and cooked with seasonings and salt fish or salt pork, it is considered one of Jamaica’s greatest delicacies, you can find this delicacy for breakfast in most household or any local restaurant!
