UPDATE

WASHINGTON, DC

Thanks to those of you who have been sending your final payments in to me........really appreciate it! Final payment must be received by February 23rd.

We still have a few seats available for anyone who wants to get away for a long weekend trip. DC is a beautiful city that everyone should see at least once in their life.

I do not want to sound like a collection agent or a broken record. BUT, the mail has been exceptionally slow lately. It is taking checks a long time to arrive.

I know the date on your flyers says February 23rd BUT do not think you can mail your check just a few days before this date, and it will get here. It could, or you could be one of the people whose check take a week or more.

I still have quite a few who still owe the final payment. If you have mailed your check, make sure it has cleared your account or you have asked me if I have received it. It is a sorry situation when we cannot trust the post office, but we are there.

The post office is taking the joy from me...........

Hey all........UPDATE

We officially put in for a second bus today for our Savannah trip in October. I have nearly enough of you on the wait list to make the second bus possible, but we will still need a few more people. But with the time we still have to advertise and all of your help, we believe we will make it!!! So please SHARE WITH ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY and help me out.

I will be in contact with those of you on the wait list.

May all those poor souls who lost their lives in that horrible plane tragedy rest in peace. And may all the first responders find a way to deal with what they have been given to endure.

Many of you have sent your final payments in and I THANK YOU so much for getting them to me so promptly!

For those who have not mailed yet, just a gentle reminder that I need to receive them BY February 23, 2025 in order to meet my deadline.

Do not trust the post office to get them here in just a few days. Sometimes they do, but often times it takes much longer.

I am so glad to see January scoot on out the door! Days are getting longer and spring inches ever closer. It will be time for our road trip before we know it!

Just a reminder that I need to RECEIVE the final payment for this trip by February 23, 2025. You cannot trust the post office, so do not wait until the last minute to send your payment.

It just took 2 1/2 weeks for a PRIORITY envelope that I paid a large postage for to get from Greenville to Florida. It was supposed to take 2 days.

So please help me out to meet my deadlines by making sure that you meet yours. The post office does not make my job easy. Just stressful. :-(

Hello Everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you enjoyed ushering in the New Year. Now winter is upon us, and we sit inside and ponder on what we can plan or have planned to do when the weather breaks.

So I wanted to update you on the trips planned for the rest of this year.

WASHINGTON, DC MAY 2-5, 2025 $595 DOUBLE OCCUPANCY

We are taking two buses and still have some availability on the second bus. TO ALL THOSE SIGNED UP, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE FINAL PAYMENT IS DUE TO ME BY February 23, 2025.

The bus is full, but I am taking names for the wait list and also to see if we have enough interest to secure a second bus. So please let me know if you are interested.

CHRISTMAS AT THE BILTMORE HOUSE DECEMBER 8-11, 2025

This trip is a bit different than the one I tried to take last year. On this trip, we will be taking the audio candlelight tour of the Biltmore so we can see it as it appeared when George Vanderbilt first opened the house to visitors in 1895. We will also enjoy a meal at the Stable Cafe that is on the grounds of the estate. The trip includes a tour of Asheville and a meal with entertainment and various other things.

Let's go and help the Ashevillle area recover as they took a major hit both financially and materially when the hurricane and flood hit them in 2024.

So let me know if you have any questions or would like a flyer for any of these trips mailed to you.

I look forward to seeing many of you again and meeting all the new people who are signed up for the first time.

I encourage you to search Biltmore at Christmas page to see some beautiful pictures of the Estate at Christmas. See what we missed thanks to the hurricane/flood this year. Then sign up for the new trip next year in December and go with us to see it up close and in person with your own eyes!!!

Your refund checks were mailed today. Watch for a Diamond Tours envelope. Those who told me to do so, the money for this trip was applied to the trip(s) you are signed up for next year.

Disappointing Day!!

I believe I have been able to contact everyone personally, but the trip to Biltmore Estate/Asheville had to be canceled due to the problems they are still experiencing from the hurricane/flood.

It is hard to take especially when the Biltmore Estate says that they will be open. The problem is that most of the hotels are full with people who lost their homes and workers who are there to help them recover. Some of the hotels still do not have safe drinking water so they cannot even brush their teeth there.

The main road to Asheville from the Smoky Mountains is closed and will be closed into next year. There was no easy way to go from the Smokies to Asheville without going a very long way around. So adjusting the trip this way was not feasible.

In the end, Diamond Tours did not feel they could give us a safe and fun trip and it was best to cancel.

There is a possibility we can do the trip next year. The problem is that Biltmore only allows Diamond Tours a certain number of trips per Christmas season as this is their very busy time. All of those trips have already been taken by other group leaders for next year. The Diamond sales manager is going to see if the Biltmore might give them more trips since so many had to be cancelled this year. If this would happen to work out, and I am given a trip, I will let everyone know.

I sincerely do appreciate the patience you all have given me during this trying time. We waited as long as possible to see how far Asheville would come with their progress, but it is not happening fast enough for them especially or for us.

I ask for your patience a little longer as I wait to get your money back and can get it refunded.
