Today is Becky Harris’ birthday. It is nice to hear about the past employees and friends who wish mom a happy birthday, but it is especially nice to hear from former long time customers/friends and today one came to mind. David Adams sent mom a birthday card. David came to the API many years ago and held classes for training new Gordon’s Jewelry employees and still stays in touch with her a couple of times a year ever since.

The last time I made these was prior to the closing of the Inn in our commercial kitchen. My wife wanted the boys to enjoy something I used to make for her when we were dating. I have added this recipe to my cookbook that will pass on all our recipes served at the Inn to our boys and their families.

Back in 2003 I started cataloging the recipes of the API, and our family’s recipes which heavily influenced what was at the API. I didn’t want to loose that rich knowledge with the closing of the hotel. I have heavily edited and added to those recipes and decide it’s time for a reprint in 2023! Much is still left to fill in, but it is has been a rewarding project. Even mom gets caught using my book !
