Almost all our internal processes are being handled by Ubuntu and Open Source Softwares in Renova LTS. This does not mean that we don't have any commercial software, we have all the required softwares related with translation, because our market is a very demanding market and we need to meet requirements of all our clients, but to be on the safe side and away from technical disasters, we don't need to use them unless really necessary. We will never require our translators to use a specific commercial software. On the contrary, to save the future of our profession, we strongly recommend them to use Open Source Translation Software such as HeartSome Translation Studio and OmegaT. Both of them are free and unlike their commercial counterparts, they work perfectly. You can use them on every operating system: Linux, Windows or Mac. Although we used OmegaT for many years, and it is really a proven software, our favorite is HeartSome Translation Studio, because it has all the features a professional translator can possibly need and most important, it takes only a few minutes to learn how it works. You will be amazed with its features. You can not find some of these features in commercial cat tools. We have also a reliable online cat tool for our translators, but it is not required. Our translators are free to use the cat tool of their choice as long as they don't cause a technical issue or delay. We will continue to talk about Open Source Software and Linux on our blog and we will share our experiences with our translators and clients as this is very important for our profession. Because, our profession is under siege by restricting and problematic commercial software providers for a very long time. They see translators and translation market as a great opportunity to make money. Like everything is perfect for translators and we do not have any problems at all, we have to deal also with their ever ending greed and technical issues. Crashing softwares and operating systems, lost translations... In short, Open Source is always better. Why we do not have a headquarter in New York or in London like others? To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man. One of the common tricks of famous web-based but fake translation agencies is, they rent virtual offices in US or in UK to make you believe that they are real. Then, they continue to open virtual branches all over the world to show themselves as big and serious businesses... But, are they? But, if the quality of their translations are so great like they repeat and repeat on those videos, can you tell us please, why in the earth those happy CEOs are still looking for a new translation agency especially after they stopped receiving my professional and correct translations there? Dear clients, please be more vigilant, thanks to the thousands of web developers, there are a webload of traps waiting for you today.
