It you’ve never gone to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween it is one of my favorite events at Disney! The parade is so fun to watch, trick or treating is a blast, shows and fireworks are top notch, and they have so many specialty foods and drinks to try. I love to see everyone dressed up in such fun and creative costumes!! A ticket gets you in the parks for 4pm with the party lasting from 7-midnight. I definitely recommend the splurge to attend next year if you are in Disney from August- October and if it is in your budget! 🎃 👻 💀 🍬

We had the unique opportunity to stay at the Grand Floridian Resort as we celebrated our 15 year anniversary. I had heard lots of hit or miss reviews on this resort so I was excited to try it out. And I absolutely loved it!! From the moment you walk in you are transported to a little oasis of magic. I have included some of the pics of our stay and a list of our pros and cons from the trip:

✔️Pros:
- 🐦 the theming- our room was themed to Mary Poppins with subtle nods to the movie. With a bird themed chandelier and beautiful art work, it was tasteful yet still with the classic Disney theming
- 🎇 you can’t beat watching the fireworks over the Seven Seas Lagoon
- 👟 the new walkway to Magic Kingdom made for a peaceful walk home after a late night in the parks (if your feet can handle it after a busy day). We found 4 deer along the way as we watched the Electrical Water Pageant on our way back to the hotel
- 🧘 this resort was not like the hustle and bustle of most Disney resorts. It was quiet and peaceful making it a nice oasis after the busyness of the parks

❌Cons:

- 🥐 food….the restaurants in general are very expensive here. If you want quick service, it has a small menu and is not very large. The table restaurants are great if you are wanting more sit down and are ok to spend a little more
- 🚶‍♀️ we did not experience this, but if you stay in the DVC villas, it is quite a walk to the main lobby
- 👧🏻 👦🏻 We definitely enjoyed experiencing this resort as adults. In terms of recognizable characters, there was minimal. Our daughter would have loved playing princess here, but in terms of our boys liking it, I would choose another resort for the whole family!

I recently completed my Marriot travel agent training so we decided to try out the brand new Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott on Pensacola Beach and it did not disappoint! Our family of 5 and two grandparents stayed comfortably in two rooms during our stay. Below are some of our pros and cons:

Pros:
🧼 : clean! Opening this past summer, this hotel was spotless from the room to the lobby area. We hope it continues to stay this way!!

🏖️ : beach access! Beach access was super easy from the pier with access from the lobby and ground floor.

🏊🏼‍♂️ : our kids loved the pool with the lazy river, especially at night. They did not have a heater yet so it was super cold, but we were allowed access to the Hoiday Inn pool. The heater is supposed to be installed soon!

🔥: fire pit! we roasted s’mores one night and it was the perfect place to wind down with a glass of wine

🥞 : continental breakfast- a step above most continental breakfasts, still equivalent to a typical free hotel breakfast but lots of options for everyone

📍: location! Easy access to boardwalk, restaurants and activities!

⭐️: other things we liked- multiple usb outlets throughout the room, large fitness center with nice view of bay, Fish Heads restaurant on the property for drinks and good food (especially the fries and funnel cake fries!!)

Cons:
🔐 : no safe in the room

🪝: for a beach hotel there were only two hooks to hang wet towels and suits!

🛌 : pillows- hubby did not like the pillows but I always bring my own!
