This is The Green-fronted Lancebill, (Doryfera ludovicae), one of many Hummingbirds that are native to El Choco, a region in Western Colombia and Ecuador that is considered one of the wettest and most biodiverse regions on the planet. In Ecuador it has been deeply fragmented, in Colombia it is more intact, but encroached on by deforestation everyday. This wonderful photo is by Jip Leermakers.
