The Rothko Chapel is a spiritual space located near the Menil House. It was commissioned by the de Menils and completed in 1971. The chapel features 14 large-scale paintings by the abstract expressionist artist Mark Rothko, known for their profound use of colour and contemplative atmosphere.

The Rothko Chapel serves as an interfaith sanctuary and a centre for human rights advocacy, hosting a variety of programs, lectures, and performances focused on social justice and spirituality.

🦫Buc-ee's in Katy, Houston 🛍️

🌟 Yesterday, I made a short stop at the legendary Buc-ee's in Katy, Houston, and let me tell you, it was an experience! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with aisles upon aisles of goodies and the aroma of freshly made treats. But the highlight of my visit? The peppered beef jerky! 😋

With over 120 gas pumps and a sprawling 60,000 square feet of space, this place is not your average convenience store. It's a Texas icon! 🤠 From their immaculate restrooms to their friendly service, it's no wonder why Buc-ee's has such a cult following.

So, if you're ever cruising through Texas, make sure to add Buc-ee's to your itinerary. Trust me, you won't regret it! 🛣️

⛰️🚠 The Sugarloaf Mountain complex, also known as Pão de Açúcar in Portuguese, has a fascinating history.

The first cable car system to Sugarloaf was built in 1912, making it one of the oldest tourist attractions in Brazil. The original cable car was made up of wooden cars that could only accommodate six passengers at a time.

In 1972, the original cable car system was replaced with a new one that could hold up to 75 passengers per car. This modernization project was a huge undertaking and involved importing the cable car system from Switzerland.

Today, the Sugarloaf complex is a popular tourist destination and a symbol of Rio de Janeiro. Visitors can take a cable car ride to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain and enjoy stunning views of the city and the surrounding landscape.

The complex also features restaurants, shops, and other amenities for visitors.

🤩 My husband and I did a short 2km route, enjoying the good temperature and the bright sun (both very precious in NL!). We decided to make this part of our new year's resolution: monthly forest baths!
