Shout out to good people doing good things in travel:

Ethical, regenerative agriculture is at the heart of the compound, a lively wine farm (circa 1692) in the Cape Floral Kingdom (a great name for one of the most special places for plants in the world in terms of density, diversity, and number of endemic floral species) just 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. The beautifully renovated hotel has a sunny Cape country look and feel. New restaurants will serve Spier’s vintages and South African farm-to-table cuisine, and 80 refurbished rooms and suites are filled with art, lovely textiles, and private terraces. From the Cape Herbal Bath House treatments to the Buzz Club activities for kids, the point is clear: This is a full farm immersion. Opening in March.

The - which includes the legendary and , will deliver a dose of Euro glamour stateside for the first time with in Palm Beach, Florida. We’d be disappointed if the legacy building did not have a pale pink façade (rest assured, it does!), but a top-to-bottom renovation by Tino Zervudachi will bring in fresh interiors to a range of accommodations across 41 elegant rooms. The new lounge, bar, dining area, outdoor courtyard, pool are glamorous and relaxed — think ladies in crisp white dresses enjoying spritzes in cane chairs shaded by big umbrellas, slender palms, and flowering vines. (Spring)

When you want to get out of dodge (and your dodge is, like, Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio):

Now open in Fredericksburg, Texas, close to the bustle of town. is a charming Hill Country hotel welcoming guests through the doors of its historically protected house on Main Street and into a sophisticated new building tucked behind it. Progress mixed with reverence of the past pretty much sums up the look and feel. Style is contemporary, regional, and timeless, with 105 guest rooms, four dining options, two bars (one at the pool), and a full-service spa. BBQ is taken seriously around here. There’s also a gourmet dining experience, a neighborhood market with homemade breads, and a watering hole serving divey snacks.

The sustainably minded - thirty minutes from the port town Puerto Escondido and currently in its soft opening phase, has 22 suites that blend into the landscape. The rooms — some with hot tubs, private pools, and/or panoramic ocean views — pay homage to the life “flourishing between sea and land.” The architecture, by Mexican studio incorporates traditional building techniques and materials like wood and clay in sandy terracotta tones. Four different gardens have been designed for regeneration. Three restaurants reflect the stories and ingredients of Oaxaca old and new.

A bright pink spot in our 2025 Hotel Preview!

Ritzy British-based Iconic Luxury Hotels crossed the pond with their first American offering: the pretty — and very pink — 79-key near Royal Palm Beach village in Palm Beach. We’re gaga for Christa Wilm’s seashell wall installations and the pink marble bar and Murano-glass chandeliers suspended from the vaulted ceiling. This one already feels like a new Florida classic.

We just got back from @forestis.dolomites, a hotel we’ve been dying to visit since we first learned about it — the restructuring of an old Hapsburg mountain home, the thoughtful rebranding, the strong eco cred behind every elegant detail. It did not disappoint. If anything, it overdelivered. The restaurant was like a theater (never seen anything like it anywhere); the majestic Dolomites the main show. From every angle, all you ever see are trees, mountains, clouds, and sky. Is there another human being out there? Not as far as you can see. (Literally.) Ski, spa, eat, sleep, dream — then do it all again tomorrow. Yeah. No complaints here. Just 💕💕💕 #fathomontheroad with @pavianyc #dolomites #winterwonderland
