We just got back from @forestis.dolomites, a hotel we’ve been dying to visit since we first learned about it — the restructuring of an old Hapsburg mountain home, the thoughtful rebranding, the strong eco cred behind every elegant detail. It did not disappoint. If anything, it overdelivered. The restaurant was like a theater (never seen anything like it anywhere); the majestic Dolomites the main show. From every angle, all you ever see are trees, mountains, clouds, and sky. Is there another human being out there? Not as far as you can see. (Literally.) Back on the Amalfi Coast, our dear pal @marchstephanie dropped in to take us to lunch at @lafontelinacapri, easily the chicest beach club in Capri, in the shadow of the Faraglioni, those giant boulders you recognize from every slick-bodied Dolce & Gabbana perfume ad. (We put more videos of the ride in our stories, including this one in full screen.) You might say that there’s an awful lot of cement here for a beach club, and you would be correct. That’s the deal around here, where the sand is scarce and the beach rocks are best considered “aggressive reflexology.” The scene here is very see-and-be-seen. (Say that fast five times.) (Now say it with an Italian accent.) The mozzarella is creamy and the desserts are worth the carbs. And, yes, we heard a lot of Americans talking, but they could probably hear us too.
