What gorgeous twins having a good kick. So lovely for babies to have a good kick especially if they're well fed and aren't overtired. I often let babies have a good kick before their bath time without their nappy or just a vest on. Put baby on the changing mat on the bathroom floor as long as you have a warm bathroom. Babies from about 6 weeks old will be happy to have a kick while you run the bath. Make sure baby is warm if you are taking all his clothes off.

December is here and all the excitement and busyness running up to Christmas can sometimes be overwhelming, especially if you have a baby.

Lucy and I at Rachels Babies are planning for 2025, placing nurses with families and other new ideas for the business.

Christmas can be a busy time especially if you have a baby or young children. You often find that with all the excitement and changes of routines, staying away with family, can lead to your baby or toddler not sleeping well at night, and maybe his napping has all gone out of routine too!
If you find this happens please do get in touch with me so that i can help you to put it right.
If you are needing help with your new born we have lots of wonderful nurses with lots of experience. Do let is know if we can help.

Should I breast or bottle feed? This is a question many mums to be ask. I always encourage mums to breast feed if they wish to. However if you would rather bottle feed thats also perfectly ok. The important thing is that baby has good feeds whether from the breast or bottle. In my experience bottle fed babies do just as well as breast fed babies. It is a very personal choice and if you wish to bottle feed or indeed cant breast feed you mustn't be made to feel guilty. Bottle fed babies also thrive just like breast fed babies. Often we are told that when we have a baby that will be the end of our good nights sleep! This really doesn't need to be true at all. All babies need to sleep and of course in the early days they need to have feeds in the night. But if your baby is having good feeds whether breast or bottle he should soon learn to sleep for longer periods. Thank you to all my new followers during the past month.

I work with families with new born babies and help with sleeping issues. Also anything relating to babies and toddlers up to the age of about 5 years. I specialise in helping with babies to self settle and sleep well. I always say if babies learn to sleep well in the first few months of their lives they will in general be good sleepers.

New babies need good feeds whether breast or bottle fed. They wont sleep well if their tummies aren't full! A few tips, good feeds, baby bringing his wind up and not letting baby get overtired. Babies who are overtired find it difficult to settle, also they dont feed so well.
