With school back in session, our lives have become more hectic and overwhelming. But the other day, I had on a bracelet from Holland America cruise line and was instantly transported to a place of serenity, reminiscent of carefree days on the high seas. The so-called ‘Double Sunrise’ service by Qantas, which ran from Australia to Sri Lanka from 1943-45, often lasted over 30 hours. Today the longest commercial flight is the Singapore to New York route, with an average journey time of 17 hours and 50 minutes. Thank goodness it's a little faster getting across the pond these days!

Nothing beats a glass of tea on a hot day, especially after a bike ride through my happy place on the Gulf State Park's stunning trails. But tea is my go to any day. I enjoy trying it hot or cold and it always tastes better on a relaxing vacation.

I was delighted to speak at Vaughn Park Church of Christ Sister Saturday about safety in travel. I shared my experiences and tips on how to stay safe while exploring the world. It was a great day for everyone to learn about how to prepare for their next adventure.
When we cruised on our honeymoon my one request was to go horseback riding. It wasn’t exactly like this picture though. We rode on a trail overlooking the beach in Barbados and had to wear long pants. Still had a great time and loved every minute!

As I reflect on my extensive travels, I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. Without a doubt, cruises have been my favorite way to explore the world alongside my loved ones. The mere sight of a cruise ship, like the Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas which I spotted in Istanbul back in 2011, fills me with a longing to embark on another adventure. These days, that very same ship also sails out of Florida, inviting families and multi-generational groups to experience the wonders of cruising.
