Taking a stroll to the supermarket and then we just nipped into the Olive Press Bar for a beer or two before dinner. Can anyone remember where the Olive Press was. PM me and I'll tell you all about our weeks holiday in this beautiful, peaceful part of the Med.

We had arrived, late afternoon, and moored up with anchor out and two lines ashore. Secure for the night. Plenty of time to have a swim though and go and explore the abandoned village on the Island of Kastos. The village lost its natural water supply in the earthquake of 1953. The water is so warm having had the sun beating down on it all day.

This our base in Nidri on the Island of Lefkas. We have moored up to the pontoon. The sun has settled behind the mountains and we are preparing to leave Inachos and stroll into Town

The adventure begins

Just a few clouds ahead and it’s only just past 10am so looking good. My hard working crew have been up since 8ish and as you can see are stretched out and resting at the bow. The sea is calm and we are heading for a lovely little bay on the island of Kastos. The forecast is for a F4 wind this afternoon and so some good sailing ahead.

The one thing you can rely on in Greece is the weather and last year we had wall to wall sunshine almost every day. It is of course important to ease yourself into the life of sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine and sun creams a must.

Like a Duck to Water

This chap took to the whole sailing thing just like a duck to water. He was soon able to sail in a F4 and with all sails up. We managed 7/8/9/ knots and had a jolly good afternoon sail. Not all find it easy but it’s interesting that generally the girls are better at helming than the boys!?
