Ok, Just Fine didn’t complete the fairy tale for us and win the Melbourne Cup but he gave us a sight for a long way. He’s not a 3200m horse obviously but can run time in the 2000-2400m range so we look forward to the autumn and him being very competitive in some of the big races then.
The 2024 Cup was a fairy tale for Sheila Laxon and the connections of Knights Choice however. Congratulations to them.
And thanks to the club for again putting on a magnificent day, weather included.

Just Fine will no doubt go forward and hopefully from Barrier 13 he won’t have to do too much work early. Whatever happens it’s great to have a runner. Gamble responsibly.

Just Fine has passed his first pre-race vet test. A final test will be conducted on Monday.

As I see it, if Via Sistina doesnt start then, with Jan Brueghel already gone, the weights will have to be increased across the board by 2.5kg to meet the min topweight condition of the race.

Just Fine, our 2023 Tour share horse who won last year's G1 Metropolitan for us, is back in full work with Gai and Adrian and making excellent progress toward this year's big Spring Racing features. Let's hope he makes it to the starting line in the 2024 Melbourne Cup after having been scratched when third favourite last year.
