Time to put our memories from the summer in our travel journal. 🤗🤗 I hope you all enjoyed your summer travels just as much as I did! WE (especially ME) were outside all summer. I know there were several people I didn’t get to see and some places I didn’t get to go, that’s how far into the out I was 😂.
.
I absolutely love stickers and scrapbook paper so I took a trip to Hobby Lobby to grab a few items that I’ll use to make my travel activity journal my own.
.
Thanks to everyone who’s supported by purchasing a copy or a few, sharing my link, leaving a review, and sharing with your family & friends, I truly appreciate your support. 🥰
Share with me how you have used your copy of Anywhere. Somewhere. Far Away. (available for purchase on Amazon)

It’s time for a good ole NOLA seafood boil! In all my years this was my first time in The Big Easy enjoying the city local style.

Well folks, it’s that time of year again. School is starting (not for me yet) and I know we have so many emotions as we prepare to welcome the kids to our campuses.
🍎
I’m dedicating this post to the New teachers 👩🏽🏫 Welcome to my page and the Wonderful World of Education. I’ve seen so many teachers decking the halls of their classrooms and I’m becoming overwhelmed, so I can only imagine how you new teachers are feeling. Having been in the profession for 9 years trust me when I say these classroom transformations get expensive. Teacher friends your paycheck is for YOU… let me repeat that for those who missed it… 🗣YOUR PAYCHECK IS FOR YOU! It is not a requirement that you spend your money or time turning your classroom into the ocean or the rainforest or a broadway production. You are not less effective or less dedicated for not doing any of this either.
🍏
Plain and simple, what matters most is creating a community and safe space where children can learn and feel they are valued. I too was once one of those teachers that felt the need to deck out my classroom but as I became more experienced I learned that me transforming my classroom was not about what I put on my walls but the knowledge and love I poured into my students.
🍎
Don’t get me wrong I LOVE buying school supplies, for MYSELF. I start each year with a new planner, colorful pens and markers, a work bag, and a cup (I spare no expense either). As a new teacher or a returning teacher trying to figure it all out, use this video as a guide to get yourself started with the essentials. I always make sure I stock my room with things I need to get through each day whether students are present or not.
🍏
Take a minute to breathe 🧘🏽♀️and mentally prepare yourself to welcome the fresh minds that will soon enter your classroom. Don’t make any more trips to Walmart or Amazon 👀.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year & Happy Teaching!

I absolutely love a museum day. Time at a museum or a cultural experience is a must on my itinerary.
.
My trip to Dallas almost didn’t happen but it did and I’m so grateful! I had the best time chilling with my cousins.
.
The Language of Beauty in African Art @kimbellartmuseum was amazing. I have seen some of the pieces in pictures but to see them in person was everything. The African continent is rich in beauty and culture, I’m always amazed at how they created such intricate details without all the advanced tools available today.
.
The exhibit has moved on now but if you can, check it out in a city near you.
