I had to set up my unstable tripod in the rushing river and wait 20 seconds per photo to eventually get this long exposure shot. Bizarre to feel so stressed in such a peaceful place.

It's a full day event if you want to volunteer on project, but it's so worth it, not only do you get paid in food, but you get to spend the day exploring a 747! All the cargo bays, walking onto the wings, seeing the massive fuel tanks and looking up into the landing gear is something you never get to experience ✈️

Welcome to the project. This year they brought the top half of a 747 to Burning Man. Next year they'll be bringing the whole thing...and it will move. The logistics of this project are absolutely mind-boggling...The plane is based in the Mojave Desert, so they have to gut it, take it apart, transport it in pieces up to Nevada and then reassemble it again so it's structurally sound. How structurally sound? Well, they are planning on turning the wings into dance floors...they are always accepting volunteers, so we made a detour in Bruce to go help for the day...

Finding a place to sleep for the night sometimes ends in the back corner of a parking lot. It's never a good nights sleep as the worry of getting "knocked" keeps you restless. However, sometimes the hunt ends at the end of an unpaved road as it did on this night. The sleep is peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Nights like these make every night in a sketchy parking lot worth it.

Fun Fact: You can tell what time of year it is based on the colors around the edges of The Grand Prismatic Spring. One component of the vivid color is the runoff temperature gradient. In the summer, you see more oranges and reds, while the winter brings more dark greens.

Had no idea this existed as we made our way to Durango, Colorado. The water is the deepest of blues and contrasts beautifully with the orange rocks. Definitely worth checking out if you're near Lake Powell in Arizona!

This year is the first year I've ever visited a National Park in the USA, even though I'm American and even though I live out of a backpack and travel full time. I know, I know...but hey, better late than never right? For the record, all of them (I'm up to 6 now) have been outstanding!

One of the views from Inspiration Point in Bryce Canyon. It's overwhelming and so hard to capture the vastness and the sheer number of all the hoodoos here. I like this photo because it looks like there was a digital glitch when opening it causing hundreds of copies to be created.
