Galway is a wonderful small city, the informal capital of Ireland's western province of Connacht. It is an excellent base for any visitor wishing to explore the Atlantic-facing west coast. Connemara to the west, the Burren to the south, Lough Corrib to the north, Galway Bay on our doorstep and the rest of the country wherever you want it. Galway is modern, with a large student population, and also ancient with a small medieval core to search out. There is good food, good music and good fun and mother nature runs right through the city along the river and canals.
