Ireland has long been known for its folklore and charming songs that weave their way into our heads and hearts. One such song tells of sweet Molly Malone, the fishmonger's daughter, who peddles her wares through the streets of Dublin. While the first known publication of the song occurred in 1876, it is highly likely the song originated in a much older folkloric tradition. The iconic and much-loved statue depicted here was unveiled in 1988 and is a staple on many tours of Dublin.

Vietnam's largest cities have a plethora of sky bars (or rooftop bars), and Ho Chi Minh City is no exception. These establishments give you an opportunity to see a great view of the city and can often be quieter than some of the street level bars if you are looking for a less noisy option. Many sky bars in Vietnam also offer mocktails and non-alcoholic options for those who prefer not to drink but still want to get out and socialize.

I treated myself to a pre-birthday spa pedicure and found myself in a wonderful conversation with the Vietnamese employees. Their faces lit up with my attempts to use my limited Vietnamese vocabulary. It is amazing how many doors travel opens.

What is missing from all these nativity scenes? Baby Jesus, of course! In Ireland and several other countries, Jesus is not placed in the creche until Christmas morning since he was not yet born. This tradition seems to depict those present in the nativity as though they are anxiously awaiting his arrival.

This video gives you a small taste of what it is like to go through one of the shorter passageways. Keep in mind that although some lighting has been added and the tunnels have been widened from their original size during the war, you will still need to duck or crouch in most areas and it will feel stuffy as you make your way through the passages.
