On this day in 1941, "a date which will live in infamy," Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japanese forces and the result was the United States entering WWII. Today you can visit the Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Hawaii, to learn about the events of that day and the aftermath, as well as pay tribute to the lives lost during the attack and within the USS Arizona, the sunken battleship still sitting in the harbor.

This museum and memorial offer opportunities for remembrance and reflection on a pivotal moment in our country's history.

About an hour drive north of the city of Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) in the Cu Chi district, are a series of underground tunnels dug by the Viet Cong (Communist guerilla troops from Northern Vietnam) during the Vietnam War. These tunnels are part of a Vietnam War memorial park and are a popular attraction. You can get a small taste of what it would have been like to climb in and out of these tunnels by attempting to crawl into a very small hole similar to a tunnel entrance. To make the experience more authentic, you must be sure to cover yourself up with the tunnel cover and take care to keep the leaves over the lid to hide the entrance once inside.

I love Hoi An!

There was definitely more I wanted to say, but I was feeling pretty disappointed in humanity after this experience so I kept it short. I will never understand some of the things humans do to one another, but I know there is still hope out there.
