The Wye Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Forest of Dean is one of England’s few remaining ancient forests. As well as loads of wonderful walks (there are maps and walk books at the house), there are opportunities for on and off road cycling/
mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, boat trips, climbing and fishing close by. Ross on Wye, Symonds Yat, Goodrich Castle, the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre, Beechenhurst Sculpture Trail, Puzzlewood (a famous film location), Mallards Pike lake, Clearwell Caves, Go Ape (there are two – for younger/older), and the Dean Forest Steam Railway are all short drives away, and there are plenty of other attractions. The house is located in the village of Ruardean and is tucked away in a small and quiet cul de sac. As you drive into the village there are wonderful views of the Welsh mountains in the distance. Car is the best way to get about, but the local bus network is very good and the nearest stop is close by. The house is compact and is most comfortable for four, but it does sleep eight in three bedrooms - 1 x king, with two extra pull out mattresses for small children if needed, 1 x quad with two bunks, 1 x bunk. There is a dedicated parking space and room for bikes. The stunning garden backs onto woodland and is tiered on three levels with seating areas. There are areas for shade with awnings, and for sun with loungers. There is a chiminea and a charcoal BBQ. There is also an inflatable hot tub to revitalise after your adventures!
