So here’s a really quick map/diagram of where the nearest defibrillators are in New Quay it’s self.

Keep in mind you won’t be able to access them until you call 999 (during an emergency) I believe they then give you a code.

I’ve added pictures so that if it’s ever needed and you’re told where the nearest one is hopefully these pictures will help for anyone that’s unaware of the area.

This was an idea given by someone local and I personally think it’s great.

Hopefully it’s helped.

Bwyd hyfryd eto yn Ffostrasol Arms neithiwr.
Another lovely meal at the Ffos last night.
Deep fried monkfish, rice & Barbados sauce; and Lasagne & chips. Maltessers cheesecake eaten before I could photograph. 😋

Time for the annual hot tub service. How tempting does that sparkling clean water look!
Happy to recommend Castle Hot Tubs from Haverfordwest for servicing, consumables and advice. Next day turnaround and excellent service.
The next project is to instal an air source heat pump to bring costs down and be more environmentally responsible.

It is now seal pupping season on the Ceredigion coast, if you see a seal pup on the shore, please stay away and keep out of sight. Keep your dog away and on a lead.

Mum will be in the water and returns to feed the pup every four hours; in between feeds the pup needs time to rest and grow. If disturbed, mum will not come up on the beach to feed the pup.

If you see an injured or sick seal, please call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 or the British Divers Marine Life Rescue on 01825 765546. Do not attempt to intervene yourself.

An Update: Mwnt has now reopened, and we will be closely monitoring the beach during the grey seal breeding season that runs until the end of November.

If you spot a seal pup at Mwnt we kindly ask that you keep your distance, keep quiet and keep dogs on leads (from 1 October), and report the pup immediately to our rangers at [email protected]

One of our favourites walks.

☀️🥾Cwmtydu Circular🥾☀️
Distance: 11km / 7 miles
Start: Cwmtydu

With plenty of climbs and descends, this walk feels like a real workout. The Coast Path stretch has been painstakingly cut into the steep coastal slope, with the gorse and bracken stretching out above and below as you walk. You’ll be accompanied by chough and seals with a good chance of a dolphin or two. By contrast, the inland section follows an intimate, wooded valley with a mixture of native trees and conifer plantations.

Whichever direction you choose to walk this loop, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views, plenty of wildlife and a good workout!

Lovely meal at Ffostrasol Arms again this evening. Bread and olives for starters and Farmers Chicken for mains. Then a lovely walk back to the bwthyn.

Distance: 8km / 5 miles
Start: Parc Llyn Playing Fields

A moderate 5 mile circular walk through the picturesque Gwrddon Valley, to the rocky coastal promontory of Penpeles. The route runs across gentle coastal slopes and flat pastures giving a sense of tranquillity and isolation.
