This is very exciting. Stories like this one with Melcher & Prescott Insurance and Mount Washington Observatory is that makes travel such a transformational experience.

What are the odds of meeting someone in Madagascar representing Mount Washington Observatory and participating in their 24th Annual Seek the Peak to raise funds that sustain forecasting, research, and education on Mount Washington? Pretty good, actually. Just ask Melcher & Prescott Insurance's Bill Bald (on the left), who met this gentleman while traveling with Epic Global Adventures on one of their custom group tours.

Travel has an incredible power to open people's hearts and minds. When we venture beyond our familiar surroundings, we encounter diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives that challenge our preconceived notions. This exposure fosters empathy and understanding, breaking down barriers and building bridges between different communities. By aligning travel experiences with individual values, we ensure that each journey resonates deeply with the traveler, making the experience more meaningful and transformative.

Supporting local communities not only enriches the travel experience but also contributes to the well-being of the destinations we visit. Engaging with local artisans, staying in locally-owned accommodations, and participating in community-led tours provide authentic insights into the local way of life. This mutual exchange of knowledge and culture broadens our horizons and cultivates a sense of global citizenship.

Promoting sustainable practices is essential for preserving the beauty and integrity of our planet. By adopting eco-friendly travel habits, we minimize our environmental footprint and protect natural resources for future generations. Sustainable travel encourages us to be mindful of our impact, fostering a deeper connection to the places we visit and inspiring us to advocate for environmental stewardship in our daily lives.

Today is Day 9 or our Nepal 2025 trip Preview

Today we use our new paddling skills on class III rapids to move swiftly through the final leg of our rafting adventure. It is a thrilling way to finish this remote wilderness experience. After drying off we transfer to Chitwan for a safari drive.

Chitwan National Park (CNP), was established in 1973, is Nepal's first National Park. Nestled at the foot of the Himalayas, it is home to one of the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal Tiger.
On today's 4x4 safari we will see tons of wildlife while searching for rhino, elephants and if lucky, a Bengal Tiger,

Tharu Community Cultural Dance Show Royal Chitwan National Park

Spend the evening listening to traditional song and watching cultural dance performances by Tharu community members. You will see dances like the Bhajayati and Thekara stick dance, the peacock dance, and the fire dance. Join with the dancers if you wish and learn the moves while adding your own flair. Dinner will be served buffet-style in the community dining hall following the performance.

Today is Day 8 of our Nepal preview
We leave Pokhara and head to the Seti River.
Rafting provides a new perspective on the lush jungle surrounding the river. Spot monkeys from below and watch birds move from branch to branch. Your first day of the river adventure is on mostly Class II rapids, which means there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy the float. There are no roads or villages in this secluded part of Nepal.

Seti River Camp is set in the remote and beautiful Seti Valley, a six-hour walk from any main road. The camp itself is permanent and the tented wooden cabins are dotted around the extensive terraced gardens right next to the turquoise river. There is a communal fireplace where we can gather.

The 16 twin bedded tents are on raised concrete platforms with a small porch and simple en suite bathroom with hot running water; each tent is covered by a thatched or slated roof. The accommodation is fairly simple but very comfortable, great fun, and above all extremely peaceful.
The food is cooked fresh by the chef and you can sip a welcoming cold drink by the campfire as the sun goes down.

Seti River Whitewater Rafting Seti River 5h
Start the activity with a safety drill and demonstration and then raft on the river for 2 hours practicing your newly acquired skills. Stop for a picnic lunch before 3 hours of grade II rafting on the Seti River.
Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Day 7 of our Preview to Nepal, April 2025.

Rise early for Sunrise at Sarangkot as the sun moves over the peaks of the mountains.

Today we have options to join a cycle tour through Pame, along the river that feeds the Phewa lake, or paddle a boat across the lake and join a restorative yoga class with the Himalayas as your backdrop.

We come back together this afternoon and travel to a Tibetan refugee village for a momo making class with our local hosts. Momos were brought from Tibet to Nepal by the refugees who came during the Chinese invasion. The village helps preserve their cultural heritage by continuing to tell their story and cook their cuisine. We are invited to help knead the dough and fill the dumplings and sharing a delicious meal with our hosts.

Day 4 of our preview of our April 2025 trek in Nepal

Today’s trek will take us to the village of Tomijong and the Tomijong Mountain Lodge. This village is known for their unique history of beekeeping. As we descend through stone steps and trails that wind through beautiful, terraced fields and traditional villages watch for birds, butterflies, langur monkeys or the Himalayan monal.
