I love trying new food flavors and drinks on vacation. While on the Regent Seven Seas Grandeur last month, I enjoyed Pretty in Pink off The Gin Way menu in the Meridian Bar. Very refreshing grapefruit flavored gin. A member of the Regent staff recommended it. She called it a goblet of yumminess! She was correct! The Ginger Bite was also very good. 🍹

Our British Isles cruise stopped in Belfast and we did a cool tour of the Giant's Causeway. It was really raining that day and the rocks became very slick, so be careful!

The Giant's Causeway is an area of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, the result of an ancient volcanic fissure eruption. It is located on the north coast of Northern Ireland.

The next port of call on our British Isles cruise was Liverpool. We had never been before so of course we headed directly to the Beatles Story experience. https://www.beatlesstory.com/ It was really interesting because they had many recorded interviews with various members of the band as well as the manager so you could hear their voices while looking through the rooms. I highly recommend this exhibit if you get a chance. I was a little too young to enjoy the Beatles during their heyday, but I knew enough to make this experience well worth it. They have many rooms made up to be exactly like the originals bars and places they performed.

Our cruise made port in Dublin, so we reached out to our Irish friends who live South of Dublin to meet up with us for the day. We learned the hard way that there are two cruise ports for Dublin. One is 1.5 miles away. The other is 40 minutes. They traveled to the close one. We made port in Dún Laoghaire. Dún Laoghaire is a suburban seaside town and seaport nestled at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains in Ireland.

We were told by locals that the taxi stand was just a few blocks from the cruise port and we could get a ride to Dublin from there. It was raining. We walked the few blocks to find there was a taxi stand, but no taxis. We waited for about half an hour and still no taxis. We had seen a train station on the way to the taxi stand, right across the road from the cruise port, so we made our way back down and bought train tickets to Dublin. We were all soaking wet by now and some of our group were getting a little crabby. :-)

About half way to Dublin, our train broke down and we were stuck on the tracks for awhile before being asked to get off the train and wait for another train.

We finally made it to the city and met up with our friends for lunch and a Guinness. They showed us a few sites, and we wrote post cards to send back home and popped them in the green post box.

We took the train back to the cruise port and . . . yep. It stopped on the way. Delay due to an accident on the train tracks with another train. We had about 15 minutes to spare when we walked back on the ship.
