This month (July) we are featuring Motegi Town in Tochigi Prefecture.

It’s home to 🏎️ Honda Mobility Resort (museum, racing circuit and ⛺️outdoors ) and the ⚜️mystical Mitsuyama Forest.

And also has a 🚂Steem Engine that runs on weekends!

Day 2 in Minakami Town (90 min from Tokyo)🪈 🎶🗻

First stop was YADO KANZAN (Hotel) where I learned how the 🪈 Shakuhachi Flute is made from bamboo (and trying to play it).

Next was a private tour of famous Japanese and Western art and a special 🪈 Shakuhachi concert just for our group in TENICHI MUSEUM which had amazing acoustics 🖼️ 🎶

Then it was time to take the Ropeway (Cable car) to the top of 🗻Mt. Tanigawadake!
What a view that was!! 👀

On the way back, I drove through Konsei Touge Pass which goes over Oku-Nikko mountains and Lake Yunoko where a couple of fishermen were fishing for trout. 🎣

Highly recommend visiting Minakami and these area North of Tokyo!

Day 1 in Minakami Town (90 min from Tokyo) 😁

🔥🇯🇵 Japanese Summer is around the corner, and I found a great way to 💦 beat the heat!

Rafting on the Tone River!!!!

🏞️ Tone river’s water in Minakami Town is super clear and scenery is really beautiful. Also, the guides spoke English and were very kind!

I booked a rafting experience with Max Minakami which also offers Canyoning and SUP experiences.
