We have been in Florida for the past 6 months! We finally departed this great state, but have to continue exploring the rest. We are at Ft. McAllister near Savannah GA. Thru August, we'll be hugging the east coast all the way up to Maine. If you follow this page, You'll be along for the ride. We spent 2 weeks in the St Augustine. Got to explore the city and meet up with some of our Perdido Key friends David Captain Flaherty and Angie Snowden-Flaherty! We had a terrific time celebrating Angie's birthday. St Augustine is a definite 'gotta come back again' location. So much to see and do.

We were lucky enough to have been treated to a 2nd space launch today! This launch is unmanned for SpaceX and StarLink Satellites.

Got up early (3:20AM) to see the 3:52an launch of the SpaceX Crew-4 rocket at NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

So, we had an interesting week in Stuart FL. Our plan was to just relax and unwind from our whirlwind adventure in Key West. As you know plans go out the door...
Within hours of our arrival, while eating dinner in the RV, or truck was broken into. A neighbor RVr called 911, and the sheriff's deputy caught the guy in the truck rummaging thru our things...Here's the page on the capture...

The day after that, we met up with some friends. We met these friends on one of our 1st adventures RVing in TN. Kept in touch, met up again in Pensacola Beach, and they bought a house in Port St. Lucy FL. Somehow you just know, some people you meet, you just wanna stay in touch with and remain friends! Sheila Sliger & (David) Suds Sliger. Hoping to meet up again in TN in November. We did go out and spend some time in Stuart FL as well. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to fully explore...so we will be back again. Terrific little town.

We had a fantastic time in Key West! We got to stay on the Navy FamCamp on Dredger's Key. Sigsbee Rd. This location was only 4 miles away from downtown Key West. We had a wonderful time with our daughter who was able to visit for a couple days. We only drove downtown once in our dually. Parking is hard to find and expensive...$5/HR or $40/day. We picked up our girl that day and spent 2 hrs downtown at a waterfront brewery. The rest of the time we rode our bikes back and forth. No parking fees...and taking the side streets was a pure joy seeing so much more than if we were driving. We hit Key West pretty good. Our Gulf Breeze friends made the trip down for the week as well. Joy Humphreys Jackson, Dave Jackson, Karen Gomez, Ben Gomez and David Cecil. Went snorkelling, saw some stuff, drank some stuff...caught a cold. Rinse & repeat.

We made it to the Everglades! Probably the hottest week of the year so far. Our campground has no hookups, that's no water or electric. Using the generator to run the AC unit. It helps a bit.

We spent a month in Thonotosassa as our home base. We spent time with the kids and met up with some of our PA friends. Then off to Orlando for a week. Or kinds came over to visit. We did not go to any of the parks this trip. They are really getting too expensive. Most of what we do is walk around anyway, there are only a few rides that even interest is anymore. E then went to Ortona Lock Campground for 2 weeks. It's between LaBelle and Lake Okeechobee. Very interesting watching boats and jet skis going thru the lock. We meet up with some other RVrs we had met at a few campgrounds over the last 2 years. On our 2nd week at Ortona, an RV couple we met in Sturgis last year and a couple other places, drove in spent a week here too. Terrific catching up and hanging out. We just arrived in the Everglades! Next week...Key West!

We just spent 1 of 2 planned months in the St Pete / Tampa area. Spent time with our daughter Morgan and son-in-law Austin at various locations throughout St Pete and Ruskin. Karen my sister came down for a week and stayed with us. We hit up the Tampa RV show and had fun with Bill and Cille. Did some kayaking, disc golfing and bowling. Net and made some new friends from GA, our neighbors for a few weeks Ronda and Reed. I spent some quality time with the underside of the RV replacing all 4 brakes and drums! YouTube is my friend. Transformed from DIY home remodeling to DIY mechanic. Found a local RV Repair shop to make me a new metal fender, and then I replaced the metal skirting that was damaged from that last blow-out in Sept. A new one from the mfgr shipped to the dealer was going to cost $500 more than what I paid. Visited some familiar establishments and sought out new ones as well. Did a little touristy thing in the Tampa River Walk. We had a great 1st month here...

We've been in the St. Pete area for a week. It's been busy to say the least. 2 days at the Tampa RV show. The identical RV we purchased in 2019 is now more than double in price!!! The weather was a bit chilly and drizzly. We hit a up a few local establishments. Got to spend time with our kids, sister and friends! Jesse's Steak and Seafood, O'Toole's, Ford's Garage, Three Daughters Brewing and Bongos on the Beach

As we journey on, we stayed 4 nights in Panama City at a military FamCamps. We did not do much here socially. We used this time for recouping from the month back home. 😳 I rotated the tires on the dually. We then spent 3 days in Cedar Key (our 3rd time here). If you've never been, I highly suggest a long weekend trip. This is old Florida...not spoiled by the McDonald's or Hilton's or large chains. Plenty of restaurants and bars and other things to do. Lots of history. Tony's restaurant serves literally the best clam chowder. 3 1st place awards in 3 years to prove it. Cedar Key has a history for oysters and clams. It's a small town of about 1000 full-time residents. Fishing is big.
Now we are in the St Pete area. Planning on 2 months here to spend much needed time with our daughter and son-in-law. Had dinner and drinks with them our 1st night here. My one sister is flying in for a week to hang out with us. We are going to the RV show in Tampa. We'll be there with some Perdido peeps.

2022 Adventures have begun, we started off by spending a month at our home base in Perdido Key. We just left and are in Panama City. We are happy we got to spend time with many of our friends, catching up, reconnecting and just plain ole picking up where we left off. We are hopeful to spend time with friends we didn't see this trip upon our return in Dec 2022. We made some new friends and we had opportunity to spend time in our favorite establishments NYN's BADLANDS "a roadside bar", O'Riley's Irish Pub Downtown and Perdido Key Sports Bar & Restaurant. Great chatting with the owners/managers and staff. We are excited to get to St Pete and spend 2 months with our daughter Morgan and son-in-law Austin and my sister Karen for a week. Since we'll be in FL til the end of May, we decided we are going to travel north hugging the east coast and see the autumn leaves on our trek back home in Dec. Stay tuned for updates as we travel.

Our whirlwind 2021 Adventures comes full circle. We're back in Perdido Key for a month. Our trip had 50 stops that took us to 20 states, 12 were 1st time experiences. We drove our home on wheels a total of 8617 miles and saw plenty of amazing sights. We met some family and friends along the way and made new friends that we'll stay in touch with.
We are already planning our 2022 Adventures and booked thru June so far
If any of Perdido, Pensacola or Gulf Breeze friends want to get together, while we're back in town, give us a call.

For Thanksgiving, we made it to the Fort Worth TX area where we celebrated with my niece Nicole, Ryan Izzy and sister Karen. We had a great time reconnecting and driving around the Dallas/Ft Worth and Grapevine areas. I truly wish the rest of the family could have made it, but life happens. We will be seeing them as we continue our nomadic adventures.

We had a terrific 3 weeks in OK. One week near Oklahoma City where we toured the site of the bombing. It is a very somber experience. We also spent 2 weeks in the Wichita Mountains, pretty much off grid. No cell service except when we climbed Mount Baldy or drove into a 'nearby' town. Shawn Harrison and Tess Harrison drove over from Hot Springs AR with their camper and camped with us for a week.

Last couple of weeks we've been tooling around eastern South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas. While in SD at Sturgis, we briefly spoke with a guy. A couple weeks later after Mt Rushmore while in Ft Thompson SD, we were in a bar and this couple came in. We started talking and come to find out he was the guy I briefly spoke with in Sturgis. His wife wasn't with him in Sturgis. So we got to shootin the s**t and having a great time. We went over to the campground they were staying at and hung out for awhile. Found out that the next place we were going was also very close to where they were staying, so we got to hang out together again. Paul & Carol Brine. We had a blast! Good people. From there we left SD and made our way to Nebraska and had a tire blowout. Currently in KS making our way to OK then on to TX for Thanksgiving with family.

So many pics and videos...
We stayed for a week in the Mt. Rushmore area at Horsethief Lake Campground At Horsethief Lake Campground At Mt. RushmoreHorsethief Lake Campground At Mt. Rushmore Rushmore. No hookups, no cell service. We had a blast doing scenic drives thru Custer State Park, and Iron Mountain scenic drive. We could not do Needles Point scenic drive because once we got into that loop, we started seeing signs indicating max vehicle width of 8'. Well, we are a little over 8-1/2' in the dually. I wanted to go to Sylvan Lake where they filmed the National Treasure 2 scene on the rocks and surrendering your hand to the noble beast... something to that effect. So many pics and dash cam video of our drives. Let's not forget our visits to the local towns and all they have to offer...Hill City, Custer, Rapid City and Keystone.
