PROJECT-E is a German-Austrian student run organization aiming to offer young women in Ethiopia an independent life through the provision of education. At our two colleges in Addis Ababa we yearly provide 35 women with excellent vocational training in the areas of secretarial training and hotel operations. Internships on regular basis ensure the application of theoretical knowledge in the professional world and language classes prepare the women for their future work in an international environment. ፕሮጀክት-ኢ በየዓመቱ 35 ወላጆቻቸውን ያጡ ሴት ወጣቶችን በኒው ላይፍ ኮሚዩኒቲ ኮሌጅ እያሰለጠነ በመስሪያ ቤቶች ውስጥ ለመቀጠር የሚያበቃቸውን እውቀትና ክህሎት ያስጨብጣል፡፡ ስልጠናው ሶስት ዓመት የሚፈጅ ሲሆን የትምህርትና የሌሎች በስልጠናው ወቅት የሚያስፈልጉ መኖሪያና ምግም እንዲሁም ተያያዥ ወጭዎች ሙሉ በሙሉ የሚሸፈኑት በፕሮጀክት-ኢ ነው፡፡ ፕሮጀክት-ኢ በ30 የመጀመሪያ ፣ የማስትሬት እና የዶክቶሬት ዲግሪ ተማሪዎች የተመሰረተ ሲሆን እነኚህ ተማሪዎች እነርሱ ያገኙትን እድል በተቻለ መጠን በተቀረው ዓለም ለሚገኙና እድሉን እጅግ ለሚፈልጉት ሰዎች ሁሉ ማዳረስን ዓላማ አድርገው ተነስተዋል፡፡

We were pleased to host Austrian Minister .edtstadler and the Austrian Delegation in Ethiopia. We discussed how PROJECT-E is changing the lives of young women and how it is well equipped to tap the potential of every student. Minister Karoline and members of the delegation toured our facility and discussed with the students on their future goals and how PROJECT-E supports them. They were also happy to learn more about the approach and vision of the PROJECT-E Hospitality Institute (PEHI).

PROJECT-E Strategy Weekend

Did you know that the PROJECT-E Team Europe meets twice a year for a strategy weekend to talk about the future of the organisation, discuss project developments and set up bi-annual plans within each department? Next month, from August 24th to 26th, the team will meet in Munich to keep working for women empowerment. Having heard the traditional German Christmas Sing "Oh Tannenbaum " yesterday, today we will hear an Ethiopian song. Ethiopia has a rich variety of traditional songs connected to different rituals and traditional celebrations. Click on the following video and listen to this Christmas song performed by our students. Traditional Christmas Song from Germany

Every country, culture and society have their traditional songs. We want to introduce both, a traditional song from Germany today and one from Ethiopia tomorrow. What is your favourite celebration?

Christmas with all its traditional rituals is strongly enrooted in the Christian culture. In Ethiopia, there are many many traditional celebrations and holidays as well. On the 4th December we introduced the traditional Injera, maybe some of you have even tried out the recipe already. Even though Injera might be the most famous part of Ethiopian traditional food there are obviously many different types of food in Ethiopia. We have asked our students what their favorite Ethiopian food is and what it is like. Are you curious? Meet Selam!

In September 2012 PROJECT-E partnered with the NGO: Selam Children’s Village. With over 25 years of experience Selam offers educational training programmes for over 1400 people, which is where PROJECT-E's programme fits in perfectly well!
