I've attended Hyperfest last year and it was an absolute blast. I didn't stay as long as I wanted to and that was one of my biggest regrets. With this year's Hyperfest, I stayed pretty much the full 12 hours from 9AM to 9PM and I truly loved this event. From catching up with old friends to seeing builds that I've admired on the internet in person to even meeting Elvis Skender of Stancenation in person, it all made to be one of the greatest days of my life. You've seen us post several times in the past year about how greatly we enjoyed the HyperFest x Street Driven Tour event at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) and now we are SUPER excited that this years event is only TWO days away. I had the opportunity to go to Piedmont Drift last weekend. The atmosphere was like no other event. Everyone was helping one another, drifting literally lap after lap with tire smoke EVERYWHERE, and unlike other events, the spectators were literally on the edge of the track. It made it great for photographers and videographers alike to be able to shoot and record footage...Check out the full post here:

We shared a few videos in the past of Sung Kang's (Fast & Furious) "FuguZ" Datsun 240z build. Being a huge fan of the Z chassis since I was a kid, I instantly fell in love with this project. I've known Jeremy since I was around 17-18 years old and have always been a huge fan of his builds. He always has some type of unique flair, whether it being custom one-off parts or unique color schemes. We've shared images of his previous builds (IS350, S2000)...ladies and gents, this is his new one! This BMW M4 is absolutely stunning....no crazy offset wheels or negative camber needed here.

Hey you, reading this FB status right now. Three innocent lives were lost due to a couple of idiots street racing on public streets. How many times will it take, lives lost, to realize that the adrenaline rush is NOT worth the risk? This accident took place across the country, but how many times have you seen the, "Street racing crash..." headline on YOUR local news?

Do I like to get into boost every now and then? Abso-freaking-lutely. Am I willing to risk my life or someone else's life to feel the temporary "rush" of a street race? Absolutely not. I'm sure 99% of people that see this in their news feed will just brush it off...but i hope that other 1% will take this to heart. If you want to feel that rush of adrenaline and prove that your car is fast.....take it to a freakin' track.

Oh, one more thing....You give us automotive enthusiasts even more of a bad reputation when crap like this happens. Don't be an idiot.

Street racing is being blamed for a multivehicle crash on the 5 Freeway in Commerce early Saturday that left three people dead and shut down the highway in both directions.

I have been a fan of the Cars and Coffee meets since the first one I attended back around 2009. One of the main reasons that I enjoy these monthly meets is because there is such a melting pot of vehicles to see. You can look in one corner of the lot and see a group of Subaru enthusiasts and on the opposite side see people twice their age (or more) admiring their Domestic builds. So a couple of weeks ago, I came across a very interesting video featuring one of my absolute favorite drifters ever, Matt Powers. Now, Matt Powers is one of my all time favorite drivers because he was one of the few drivers in the entire Formula D grid who stuck with the original KA engine in his 240sx (well, with other modifications like the big snail under the hood as well)....

When it comes to car events, it's always a hit or miss. It is not like the events that are being held are bad in anyway shape or form. However, some of them have a missing "vibe" to them, either the event is way too unorganized or it just doesn't feel like everyone in the venue is really united. When I go to an event, it needs to have that "have fun" feeling, that feeling where at the end of the day you're left happy and saying "WOW! [ 177 more words. ]

First and foremost, I am a huge fan of drifting. My older brother was an automotive enthusiast which ultimately led to me reading and watching everything automotive-related that he had. I remember watching Video Option, Grip Video and this RJ Devera/Keiichi Tsuchiya "Drifting 101" that I watched over-and-over (YouTube says 2010...I definitely had the DVD well before that, probably around 2004-2005).

In 2014 I watched a video of Animal Style drifting around a parking lot and was hooked; they were talented, had nice looking cars with a matching color scheme, unique livery and just seemed to be having a good time. They released the Team Animal Style 2015 Recap a couple weeks ago, which I definitely enjoyed as well:

Well, the East Coast as a whole has been pounded with snow/ice over the past 48 hours. I'm snowed in here in Raleigh another day, leaving me with ample time to edit photographs, binge watch Netflix and random videos on YouTube. I was born 'n raised here, have moved around numerous times in and out of the state (and even this country for 6 months) and I have yet to find a place I'd rather call home. As I mentioned in our 2015 Recap post, one of my goals for 2016 is to shoot a ton and collaborate with other photographers/enthusiasts more than I ever have. So far, I've gotten a pretty good start on it. I met up with our friend Hoang of Midnightrush Photography and a few friends for dinner and a very informal shoot to kick off the year last Saturday (January 1st). You know, sometimes these quick little "informal" shoots are more fun than well-orchestrated and planned shoots. It was chilly out, but a good time nonetheless.
That night reminded me of the first years being involved in the automotive world. On almost every Friday or Saturday night, we would grab a bite to eat and congregate in any parking lot in Raleigh that wouldn't kick us out. That might not sound like fun to the non-automotive-enthusiasts, but I'm sure the rest of us can relate! Be sure to check back in a few days as I will be posting images from a shoot yesterday with these guys!

It's hard to believe 2016 is less than 24 hours away. This time each year, many of us reflect on the good and the bad of 2015; hopefully for most, the good outweighs the bad. No matter if you had the most outstanding year of your life, or the worst, a new start is here. The perfect time to set new goals (not just New Year Resolutions) and to outdo the year before. For my wife and I, 2015 was a year filled with all types of changes; sold our first home and moved back to Raleigh, new jobs for both of us, sold my S14 and finally got into an Evo and happily more involved with the automotive world that I so dearly missed, and the list continues...

As an automotive enthusiast, I often wrap up my night by browsing through various YouTube channels and even Facebook, searching for new videos that catch my attention. Any time I see a new video featuring Rauh-Welt Begriff RWB/Akira Nakai, I’m immediately sucked in and watch every second of it. While his aesthetic style might not be everyone’s cup of tea, I think any true automotive enthusiast can/should respect Nakai’s incredible attention-to-detail and craftmanship; each build truly is a unique work of art. I shot Jeremi Magers super clean EK hatch earlier this year. This car is an excellent example of function + form....not over-the-top in any way at all; not a single section of this car overlooked. It is refreshing to see builds as detailed as this....not worrying about getting 50k likes/followers on Instagram/social media, truly building this to suite HIS taste.
