It's chilly today at Scoop Lake. The wind broke up the little patch of ice that formed overnight but soon it will be here to stay. Love the sound of the wind and the tinkle of ice. Keep warm.

You know you are in a hunting camp when the barn cat feels the need to smell like a moose. Currently all three of them are curled up on the really really rutty moose hide and looking pretty pleased with themselves.

The tundra/whistling Swans show up every single year on September 26th. The sure sign of Autumn at Scoop Lake. We had about 6 Trumpeters on the lake earlier this week. I think they nested on a puddle just over the hill.
