5 Things know before Climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania 🇹🇿

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a rewarding adventure, but it’s important to be well-prepared to ensure a safe and successful trek. Here are key things you should know before embarking on the journey:

1. Choose the Right Route

Kilimanjaro offers several routes, each with varying levels of difficulty, scenic views, and success rates. Popular routes include the Machame, Lemosho, and Marangu routes. Consider factors like your fitness level, time available, and the type of experience you're looking for when selecting a route.

2. Physical Preparation

Mount Kilimanjaro stands at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), and hiking at high altitudes can be physically demanding. While you don't need to be an elite athlete, you should be in good physical shape. Focus on endurance training, such as hiking, walking, and cardio exercises. Simulating long hikes with a pack will also help.

3. Acclimatization

To avoid altitude sickness, it's essential to take your time and acclimatize as you ascend. Kilimanjaro's routes are designed to help with this, but you should still plan for a slow, steady ascent. Consider a minimum of 7 days to increase your chances of reaching the summit.
