In the afternoon guests from the US enjoyed walking around Naramachi old town. At the end of our Afternoon Old Town Stroll, they got refreshed with Nara sake.

The restrictions of COVID have been eased, foreign tourists have started to come back.
Today, we welcomed a nice couple from UK.

A nice couple from Saipan joined our Nara Park Classic Tour. We enjoyed comfortable walking in warm weather. Oh, “ warm weather “ was for me. For the guests,it might have been a little bit cold,because they’re from Saipan!

Do you have a gluten allergy but want to taste ramen noodles?
If your allergy can tolerate soy sauce, here is one option, Konjac ramen from Kamakura, a popular noodle shop originally from Osaka.
They have a bowl of Konjac ramen noodles. I ate it the other day and it was exactly the same as their regular noodles except that noodle is made from Konjac not wheat.
However, according to the company website, “wheat” is still listed as one of ingredients contained in this ramen. I am guessing wheat is from soy sauce used in soup. Konjac ramen isn’t gluten-free nor wheat-free, but hopefully it can become a safer option for some who can’t stop their curiosity! I’ve had a guest who told me she tried ramen noodles knowing she has allergy and ending up feeling a bit unwell.

Yakushiji Temple is just 7km away from Nara Park area and famous for two beautiful pagodas.
East pagoda was built in 8th century while West pagoda was rebuilt in 1981. Open-work carvings of Buddhist Angels who play the flute are on the top of the pagodas.
Be overwhelmed by the dynamism of wooden structures. Imagine the tunes produced by the angels.

During summer, lotus flowers bloom at Fujiwara Palace Site located in Kashihara City. (About 1hour from Nara Park area by train & walk)
The palace is said to have been constructed in 694 and lasted only 16 years.
Lotus flower is a symbol flower of Buddhism. According to Buddhist belief, beautiful lotus flowers are blooming in the pond of the paradise.

In Hasedera Temple, peonies are in full bloom. The famous roofed-stairs with peonies are definitely photogenic.

Muroji Temple, which has over 1200-year-history is located in the east of Nara Prefecture.
Surrounded with mountains, the precinct is always tranquil, but in the season of rhododendron, many locals come and appreciate the beautiful scenery.
