Spirit Adventure tours is inviting you to join us in Switzerland. The charming mountain village of Kandersteg, homebase for our tours, is one of the “old pockets” of Switzerland where hay is still raked from the slopes and cheese is still made at the quaint alpine dairy as it was centuries ago. Guests will spend two weeks enjoying leisurely to moderately challenging hikes through flowering alpine meadows and winding mountain trails that lead to crystal clear glacial lakes, the snowcapped giants reflected in their azure blue waters. Longer treks include traversing the ancient Gemmi Pass, used since prehistoric times, a trading route travelled since the middle ages and used for travellers in the Roman Empire. Guests will be privileged to hike above and witness the awe inspiring landscape of the Aletch glacier, the longest of the Alps, a Unesco World Heritage Site. There will be an opportunity to explore the terraced Lavaux vineyards above Lake Geneva, the unique villages above the Rhone river valley, the Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald areas, and the castles of Thun and Chillon. A choice of day trips to the capital city of Bern, the vibrant cities of Montreux or Lucerne are only a short train ride away. Guests may spend a day in the quaint village of Stresa, nestled on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Italy. Here, guests can wander into the unique shops, bask in the sun, savor the finest wines and share a delicious lunch.
After each rejuvenating day, return to your cozy chalet where you will cap off the evening with a communal meal, storytelling, and laughter with your newfound friends.
