Spirit Adventure Tours is inviting guests to discover one of the worlds greatest gems, Kandersteg, Switzerland. Spend two weeks in this tranquil mountain village, enjoy leisurely to moderately challenging hikes through flowering alpine meadows and winding mountain trails. Revel in scenic train journeys that gracefully meander through mountain passes, experience the local cuisine and stop to enjoy a chat with village people along the way.
Guests will have the opportunity to choose a visit to the Unesco World Heritage sites of the Jungfrau region, the terraced Lavaux vineyards above Lake Geneva, unique villages above the Rhone river valley, the castle of Thun and Chillon. As part of the itinerary, spend a day in the quaint village of Stresa, nestled on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Italy. Bask in the sun, explore unique shops, savor the finest wines and share a delicious lunch.
After each rejuvenating day, return to your shared cozy chalet where you will cap off the evening with a communal meal, storytelling, and laughter with your newfound friends.
Our July 13th to 27th tour is designed for those seeking this more unhurried pace.

Spirit Adventure tours leads small group hiking tours based in the village of Kandersteg, nestled in the Bernese Oberland mountains of Switzerland. With the company’s 30 years of returning to the village, guests are introduced to and develop an intimate connection to the land, the people and its history.
As guests wander through flowering meadows, traverse ancient mountain passes and explore the neighboring countryside by train, close friendships develop. It is the allure of this breathtaking landscape, its people and the down to earth camaraderie of the group that draws people in and it is this “old pocket” of Switzerland that will become a part of you and stay with you long after you have left.

Hiking the Swiss Alps
Spirit Adventure tours is now booking for summer 2023. Experience the majestic beauty of the Swiss Alps on foot and by train. This two week tour is based in the tranquil village of Kandersteg, surrounded by the giants of the Bernese Oberland mountains. Never crossing the same path twice, guests are guided through beautiful alpine meadows bursting with wildflowers, over ancient routes across mountain passes, along mountain streams and to pristine glacial lakes. Taking time to embrace the nature around us, appreciate the locals who are making cheese on the mountain, raking hay from the slopes and celebrating their culture every day, this is a tour with an “old world” feel. Guests will be immersed in the Switzerland they read about as a child.
We will explore the Unesco world heritage sites of the Lavaux vinyards above Lake Geneva, the Aletch glacier, the largest in Europe, the Eiger trail under the notorious North Face and cross the rugged landscape of the Gemmi pass. From easy strolls to more vigorous climbs, there is something to suit everyone’s pace.
With the capital city of Bern, just one hour away, and trains that run every hour to our village, guest can enjoy the city, have an evening meal and be back home in their cozy chalet at night.
Included in your package is a day trip to Stresa, Italy. Here, guests can visit Isola Bella, one of the Borromean islands, with its luxurious palace and extravagant gardens. Some may choose to spend time on the beach, indulge in the Italian cuisine and taste their great wines, visit the many artisans shops and return home to the alpenglow on the mountains, all in the same day.
This is more than a hiking tour. It is a time to relax, rejuvenate and build new friendships in one of the most safe, beautiful and serene places on earth.
