Saturday 16th January, 7:30pm: Starting the new year at the Town Hall will be Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra featuring Mina Jarvi performing Brunch's violen concerto. "A distinctly Scandinavian feeling pervades the rest of the programme with a selection of rich, dramatic and visceral orchestral pieces culminating in Nielson's momentous 5th Symphony. The Hey Diddles' annual Christmas shows start this weekend and promise a fun-packed show for your little ones featuring singing and dancing with a Christmassy theme. Shows will be taking place at Moldgreen United Reformed Church on Saturday at 2pm, Holmfirth Civic Hall on Sunday at 2pm & 4pm and Brighouse Civic Hall at 2pm on Monday. Tickets cost £4 for adults, £5 for children and under 18 months are free. To book tickets call Holmfirth TIC on 01484 222444 or pay on the door.

More festive light switch ons this weekend. Holmfirth will be switching their Christmas lights on this Saturday with a fun-packed event for all the family. Starts at 3pm with children's activities, crafts, a special Hey Diddles quiz, meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen followed by the christmas parade lead by Hope Bank Youth Band, festive singing and live entertainment with the grand light switch on at 6pm! Following on from the fabulous Huddersfield Christmas Lights switch on last weekend don't miss Honley's lights switch on this Saturday - never a disappointment with lots of food, drink and entertainment starting from 3pm. There will be fairground rides, DJ Dee Jay, performances from the Hey Diddles, Hope Bank Community Choir and the Samba Band plus lots more. It's the fabulous annual Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival this weekend, Sat & Sun. Lots of delicious treats from around the world to be sampled throughout Holmfirth from spicy delights to juicy hamburgers to naughty but nice cupcakes! Unfortunately the Hey Diddles have had to cancel their Easter show in Moldgreen on Sat 28th March. They will still be doing their planned Holmfirth show on Sat 4th April and tickets can be bought from Holmfirth TIC by telephone or over the counter.
