I Hate It When Eric Idle Ruins Attractions RIP Dreamfinder: 3/5/1983 - 10/10/1998 In 1998, some strange idea surfaced that people no longer like the original, beloved Imagination attraction.

This page is dedicated to all of us who still love and remember EPCOT Center's original Journey Into Imagination ride, with our favorite characters, Dreamfinder and Figment. So, the ride was (allegedly) improved by removing the whimsy and fun and, most significantly, the characters Figment and the Dreamfinder. They were instead replaced by Eric Idle's Dr. Nigel Channing. tely plummeting, the ride was closed in 2001, and reopened in 2002 with Figment returned, albeit in a less whimsical and more cloying way. Dreamfinder was still nowhere to be found, apart from a brief reference on a door (can you spot it?). Please note that this is not an attack on Eric Idle personally; he is a very funny man. But now, every time I see him, I am reminded of how much I miss the classic EPCOT Center attraction.
