Congratulations to Slicker's Eatery on their small business of the year award! Looks like they will be reopening in February. Bob Slicker is a pillar of the community and he and his staff run a top-notch restaurant. They serve great food and craft cocktails. We encourage you all to pay them a visit, you will not be disappointed!

Today marks our 118th day since the hurricanes forced us to “indefinitely” close.
Last night, Slicker’s Eatery was named Small Business of the Year. 🥲

How do we think we were given this honor despite not doing business for over 100 days and missing out on our busiest and most profitable time of the year? Because we still haven’t stopped working, serving, and growing. It’s looked a lot different than we ever thought, but we’ve never been known to give up.

Since we first dreamt of building our own little family eatery, we promised to keep things local and keep kindness at the forefront. It has never been about competition or getting rich (why do you think it’s taken us so long to piece things back together here? 😂)

Simply put, we care about people. And this award is a tangible reminder that people care about us, too. We’ve seen so much support from generous donations, to folks reaching out from all over the world, to friends volunteering their time in our food drives and parking lot parties, to those who were here right after the storms to help us scoop out the ruined appliances and debris.

Thank you to our team for sticking it out with us in this unbelievable time. Thank you to our friends, family, and supporters, for your love. Thank you to AMI Chamber of Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce for this award. This all truly means more than you can ever know. It’s what keeps us going and reminds us to never give up.

Speaking of not giving up… We’ll see you all in February. The Slicker’s you know will be quite a bit different but the heart will always stay the same and we’ll need you. Plus, there is SO much to celebrate. THANK YOU!!! 💚
