Meet the Artist Talk - Jenny Blake | Monday 19 June Tumbarumba, NSW

At 10am on Monday 19 June, join local artist Jenny Blake at her Tumbarumba installation 'Threads', 30a The Parade, Tumbarumba, located down the walkway adjacent to the Tumbarumba Hotel, to hear from the artist about her work.

‘Threads’ is a validation of what was lost, an acknowledgment of what has changed, a reminder that trauma lives unseen.

Part of the Snowy Valley Sculpture Trail Shop Art Project, 'Threads' is installed until the end of June. For more information about the project, visit https://sculpturebythesea.com/snowyvalleys/shopartprojects/shop-art-projects/

Will you be joining us?

The Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail, a new and significant series of sculpture collections in Adelong, Batlow, Tumbarumba, Tooma and the Tumbarumba vineyards with cellars doors is opening next month on 5 May.

Created in consultation with the Snowy Valleys Council, a Local Community Advisory Group, members of the wider Snowy Valleys community and Destination Riverina Murray, the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail will stretch 100km across seven sites and is funded by the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund.

We aim to create a sculpture collection of which the people of the Snowy Valleys can be proud and one that will encourage more tourists to visit the region and for them to stay longer. Cultural tourists are recognised for spending considerably more per day than other tourists.

The Sculpture Trail will be opened on Thursday 5 May at Courabyra Wines by NSW Tourism Minister Stuart Ayres with everyone welcome and Community Celebration Days in Adelong, Batlow and Tumbarumba on 7 May and Tooma on 8 May.

We look forward to providing you with more details about the Community Celebrations next week including plenty of activities, free family sculpture making workshops, tours of the sculptures with the artists and a free hop on hop off bus between the towns on 7 May.

Very exciting!

Just in case you haven't heard the news...
(see newspaper clipping)

This will be monumental for Tumbarumba.
We are thrilled, excited, elated and can’t wait to get started.

The next few years will be huge for cycling in Tumbarumba with the bike playground and now this.

As is the Tumbarumba way, both projects have been wholly driven by volunteers.
So we’d like to take this moment to thank those volunteers who have worked on the project to get it to this point. This a terrific culmination of that work, yet only just the beginning. Thankyou for your efforts.

We’d also like to thank all of the individuals and organisations who have lent their support to the project in various ways.

It is important to us that this project will be a community asset and protects and/or promotes the historical, cultural and environmental assets on what is an iconic landmark in Tumbarumba.
We will be working with other community groups to help ensure it’s a great project with broad appeal.

Exciting Times
