Tour guide colleagues & friends! Amazing community of historians, story tellers, experience developers, content experts, and all around good humans.

What an incredible gathering of some of the best tour guiding talent out there. These fine people have encouraged me, educated me, laughed and cried with me. Thank you for being my chosen professional and personal community. All of us strive to share the DC we know intimately with fellow locals, transplants, national and international visitors, students and history enthusiasts. Thank you for joining me on this journey. Everyone needs to take tours with one of these amazing humans.

Huntsville is more than NASA, butt NASA is a huge part of its identity. Just here a few days while my group completes a Space Camp adventure. Trying to explore as much as possible while here.

1. Space Shuttle Pathfinder at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

2. I'm officially NASA now. No more tours.

3. Saturn 5 rocket.

4. Apollo 16 crew capsule.

5. Guessing Miss Baker did not choose the space life, but at least she's honored.

6. Constitution Hall. The site where Alabama ratified its own and the U.S. Constitution, thereby becoming the 22nd state, c. 1819.

7. Huntsville City Hall.

8. Downtown.

9. Neighborhood of beautiful single family homes directly adjacent to the downtown business district.

10. I love decorative utility hole covers

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum was one of the highlights of Nashville. Incredible history of country music roots, contemporary profiles, cultural impact, HOF plaques, plus a killer gift shop. 🎻🎸🎶👌🏽

Resistance to displacement comes in a lot of forms. A museum dedicated the craft & culture of go-go might be my new favorite.

Now you can visit DC and see go-go contextualized in three different exhibitions: NMAAHC on the National Mall, MLK Library downtown, and now Anacostia on MLK Blvd.

The highly anticipated Go-Go Museum and Café in D.C.’s historic Anacostia neighborhood held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week.

It's a major award! 😊 Thank you to the folks at Events DC Walking Town. They thanked all guides from a September series of neighborhood tours with this great trophy. I was not expecting this and it's awesome!

While it didn't come in a box labeled "FRAGILE," it was personally handed over by their gracious staff. Thanks friends. Let's do it again next year!

Really interesting tours this week with engaged and interested visitors from the Netherlands. We're exploring U.S. elections, the three branches of government, history, and commemoration.

The organizers also secured Dutch news correspondents who are based in the U.S. to give a journalist perspective on our systems. Extra compelling, even for me as the guide!

Inauguration preparation has begun, believe it or not.😲

Much of Lafayette Park is closed for construction of the parade viewing box.

Pennsylvania Avenue bike lane barriers have been removed to accommodate the parade.

And most importantly, the official Inauguration platform going up on the west front of the Capitol Building.

26 days until the election.🗳️ 102 until Inauguration.🏛️

I knew the basics of the story about the desegregation/integration of Glen Echo Park (just outside of Washington DC).

But I definitely did not know this documentary's worth of the story. Looks to be screened this Friday at the DC Black Film Festival. [https://dcbff.org/]
