📍Fantasy World is located along Diokno Highway in Lemery Batangas

Fantasy World was meant to be the Philippine version of Disneyland. It’s supposed to be the largest and grandest theme park in the country. However, this ambitious project has remained unfinished. Fantasy World has never opened as a theme park. According to local stories and rumors, the Japanese owner had financial problems and, therefore, stopped the construction years ago.

Despite being a failed project, Fantasy World is still a favorite Batangas tourist spot and a frequent filming location. Its large fairytale castle, medieval-themed structures, and sad story have managed to attract many tourists.

📍MONTE MARIA IN BATANGAS

Monte Maria is not just a shrine but an international pilgrimage and conference center built in honor of the Virgin Mary. Formally known as Montemaria International Pilgrimage and Conference Center, the complex spans 8 hectares and is situated 20 kilometers outside of Batangas City.

Monte Maria is one of the top Batangas tourist spots because of its uniqueness. It is meant to be both a religious and tourism site. Although devotees and pilgrims are attracted to it, Monte Maria caters to regular tourists as well.

❗Visit Caleruega Church in Batangas

Caleruega’s Transfiguration Chapel, the property’s main draw, embraced me with that warm welcoming feeling, an ideal feature for a retreat destination. But other than being a place for reflection and prayer, the chapel bears witness to many unions of people vowing everlasting love for each other.

The place got its name from the municipality of Caleruega in Spain, the birthplace of the father of the Order of the Preachers, Saint Dominic de Guzman. It was built to serve as a venue for contemplation but has made a name for itself over the years as one of the most well-known wedding venues in the country, especially those from Manila.

❗KOREAN TEMPLE IN SILANG CAVITE

With the influx of Korean students and expats, Silang feels much like a Korean town. There are lots of Korean restaurants and supermarkets, and Korean street signs are quite a common sight. Aside from these places, if you really want to experience a piece of South Korea, be sure to drop by the Manila Buddhist Meditation Center, simply known as Korean Temple. It has a beautifully landscaped garden where Buddhist statues stand, with a pathway that leads to the main temple hall. The temple hours are erratic; entry to the main temple isn’t guaranteed but you may explore and take photos at the garden on your visit.
