Public Service Announcement: A lot of people are putting stands up in preparation for the upcoming season, which is great! However, be sure you watch for dangerous plants such as poison ivy, which grows in many forms (low plant, bushy, or vine). It is very common and although not everyone has an allergic reaction to the oil from poison ivy (about a 50/50 chance), its better to not try to find out! Look for the 3 shiny leaves accompanied by little white, round berries sometimes.

The pictured poison ivy is the vine form, which is what gets people putting treestands up and trimming "limbs" for shooting lanes.

Well, after a slight break in action, we have a brand new season of Over the Shoulder Outdoors TV coming your way! It is going to be a fast-paced season full of awesome hunts from normal people just trying to balance work, life, and their love for the outdoors. Here is a little sneak peak of what you can expect this season! Be sure to tune in to WKBT out of LaCrosse, WI on Saturdays at 11:30 AM and My Network TV on Sundays at 2:00 PM starting June 30th!

Remember, if you happen upon a fawn, leave it alone! Mom isn't far away and will come back to get her fawn once the danger is gone. The fawn is perfectly fine. Touching it or moving it will only hurt it in the long run.

This is a fawn Josh recently came across while turkey hunting in WI. After a quick picture, he continued on and left it alone.

Josh's wife, Lindsey, got it done yesterday morning. This was not only her first turkey, but her first successful hunt ever and with Josh right by her side. They had perfect conditions and a group of 8 toms read the script perfectly as they came running in to the decoys right as the sun was peaking through the trees! Congratulations, Lindsey!

Great day to be in the stand! After 13 years Josh was finally got the opportunity on his first buck with his bow. It just never came together for Josh when he was in front of the camera until today!

Logan Veenendall was able to get in close on a mature Kansas whitetail and seal the deal! It's been a tough few days off hunting with great encounters almost every sit but getting close was an issue. We made some adjustments and Mark and Jordan still have tags and are hard at it! Wish them luck!

Well we're all settled into Kansas for our first sit! We scouted hard for the first 2 days so now it's time for the hard work to pay off! We found some good pinch points for later this week when the temps drop but tonight we're hitting the food source where we saw around 30 deer feeding last night. Mostly little bucks and does but we popped up a blind and brushed it in well this morning so hopefully we hittem before they know what's coming! Stay tuned!

Jarett Young and his dad Jason got out for a quick hunt last night after his baseball games had been cancled due to rain. Well, its never too wet to get out hunting! The two got it done again on another beautiful WI buck! Any other youth out this weekend having any luck?
