UPDATE - 01/09 4PM: CHELCO staff continue to work on restoration efforts from our headquarters and out in the field. We have 112 outages affecting 4,561 members. Broken poles are the cause of a majority of our outages. These repairs take longer due to their severity. We continue to make regular updates beyond this post, so please check our page for more information. If you have not already reported your outage, you can do so by one of the following outlets...

UPDATE - 9:45 AM: 111 outages are affecting 7,986. Crews have restored power to 3,175 members and continue to work diligently to restore to the largest number of members as safely and quickly as possible. To report outages, call (850) 892-2111. If you have an emergency, please call 9-1-1.

UPDATE - 8:45 AM: 101 outages are affecting 9,513 members. Crews are out and all hands are on deck internally. Staff will continue to work throughout the day and well-throughout the night. We have requested additional mutual aid from our fellow cooperatives.

UPDATE - 7:25AM: 104 outages are affecting 10,647 members. Stay indoors and off the roads if possible. Tornado warnings continue for our area. Crews are being dispatched as quickly as safely possible.

UPDATE - 6:25 AM: 93 outages are affecting 8,672 members in our service territory. Crews are being dispatched throughout and power will be restored to the largest number of members as safely and quickly as possible.

UPDATE - 5:15 AM: 78 outages are affecting 9,026 members. If possible, stay indoors until all severe weather has passed. Multiple poles have been reported broken. Stay away from downed power lines if you come across them, and call 911 to report them immediately.

3:45 AM: We are now up to around 2,300 members affected by outages throughout our service area.

3:15 AM: We currently have scattered outages affecting around 1,300 members. All standby crews are deployed to the field to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Crews are working to restore a large outage in Mossy Head affecting more than 1,000 members.

🚫 While we're eager to get our days started or see what Mother Nature has produced, it is EXTREMELY important you avoid unnecessary travel and stay clear of impacted areas. Not only is it VERY dangerous, but extra vehicles on the road can hinder emergency services from doing their job.

🌪️ Not to mention, we are currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, with a Tornado Watch until 7AM. The next round of severe weather is moving quickly from Pensacola and will be here before we know it. Unfortunately, there is more to come.

📲 Remember, if you are out and about and sharing it on social media, it encourages others to do the same. Be careful what you post and share information responsibly. Your lives are too important to us.
