: SG AIRPORT OFFERS FREE CITY TOURS FOR TRAVELERS

After a two-year hiatus, Changi Airport Group (CAG), Singapore Airlines (SIA), and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have relaunched the Free Singapore Tour.

The tours are offered daily and will last approximately two and a half hours. There are plans to eventually provide a total of nine tours per day. Visitors with a stopover of at least five and a half to twenty-four hours are suitable for the tours.

The tours will require passengers to have a valid entry visa for Singapore. Bookings must be made on the Changi Airport's website first.

"If you are transiting through this tiny island state, you can discover Singapore's sights, sounds, and rich heritage with the Free Singapore Tour. For travelers with at least 5.5 to 24 hours to spare until your connecting flight, join one of our free 2.5-hour guided tours." Changi Airport website stated.

Passengers who meet specific requirements can select from various tours, including the Changi Precinct, City Sights, and Jewel. Beginning in June 2023, the Heritage Tour will be available.

Itineraries will be available in English every day, including weekends and holidays.

REHABILITATION OF SURIGAO AND SIARGAO AIRPORT, NOW COMPLETE!

A few months after the strongest typhoon in 2021 hit the country, the Surigao Airport and Siargao Airport in Surigao del Norte, which were severely battered, are now restored and ready to welcome locals and visitors.
Yesterday, 08 June 2022, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade and Undersecretary for Finance Giovanni Lopez, together with the Airport Projects Team, led by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Jim Sydiongco and CAAP Chief-of-Staff Atty. Danjun Lucas, led a site inspection and visit at the said airports.
The inspection team landed at Surigao Airport, where the newly-restored Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) greets passengers with a more convenient and spacious pre-departure area. Restrooms were likewise improved and new air-conditioning units were installed at the terminal. Other airport facilities, such as the runway and Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Building have likewise been restored.
The inspection team then proceeded to Siargao Airport. Far from its sorry state back in December 2021, after Typhoon Odette leveled the airport to the ground, Siargao Airport is now back to normal operations. Passengers are welcomed with a more improved arrival and departure area, baggage screening counters, a dedicated room for children, and a breastfeeding area.
With the improvements and completed rehabilitation work at the Surigao and Siargao Airport, air connectivity in the region is further assured to continue providing an improved quality of life for all.
In the coming days, before the Duterte administration's term ends, the DOTr and CAAP are set to hold the formal inaugurations of Surigao and Siargao Airports.
