Autumn Olive Farm is thinking of having a camp day April 5th open to outside riders. Kids - and adults. Must be able to at least walk and trot. Lots of riding before lunch. Some riding after lunch and barn work. You game?? 8:30 - 4:30, bring food and drink. Need at least 3 campers to do the camp day. Contact Syndi by pm for more info.

Autumn Olive Farm had a great show today! Stopped raining just in time for first class. Brave riders came out. Pics of a few riders. Three of my riders did their very first show. All got ribbons. Many got champs and reserves. Did not get pics of all riders... ugh

AOF is holding their show tomorrow. It will begin an hour late - at 9:30am. Our ring is fine when wet for riding and jumping. Parking should be fine if you park down the slant. 4-wheel drive helps - we have a tractor, just in case. Our viewing stand is covered. Rain may be heavy in morning but will subside. Contact me with any questions.

Reminder: Joining VHSA is easy. You can easily go online to pay membership dues, sign up your horse, and many other things. Doing this before your first horse show is a good idea. You can join/sign up at my Autumn Olive Farm shows, but it's so quick and easy online and it is less paperwork for you and show management, and you don't need to write a check for entries and another check to VHSA at the show. To receive VHSA points, the horse and owner must both be VHSA members. Your horse/pony cannot receive VHSA points until registered with VHSA.

Well, it's March. Show season is upon us with the rain, wind, mud, mud, mud, shedding, hair, hair, hair, but at least more daylight...

The first Autumn Olive Farm horse show is March 23. Our judge will be Edee McGregor. It will be formal attire (except Leadline, Eq Preview and Open divisions - they are always informal). When shows are 80 degrees or warmer, we allow informal attire in all divisions! I will let pre-entries know if formal or informal. Remember we have some new divisions (Leadline Eq and Pre-Long Eq).

Entries are already coming in! Hairy horses are allowed, non-muddy horses would be okay if you can find them, but, dang - just come anyway!

Our prizelist has new/changed information, so please take time to read everything.

Autumn Olive Farm has added two new divisions to their prizelist. Leadline Eq and Pre-Long Stirrup Eq. Leadline Eq will be 3 classes judged 100% equitation (size and age considered) and Champion/Reserve will be given. Informal attire ok. Classes get harder as they go along. Pre-Long will be the same as Pre-Short but allow riders 13 & older, including adult amateurs. Complete info will be on the 'shows' page of our website as soon as it gets uploaded. We have a new prizelist and a document explaining all the eq divisions. Read the explanation document for more detailed info that what is shown on the 'shows' page. Kinda thinking of a new Leadline Division at my Autumn Olive Farm horse shows (7 & under - maybe make informal so clothing for littles need not be hunted for - helmets must be worn). Any interest? I'm thinking, like, the first class is typical lead the rider around - judged on eq (seat, hands, heels, etc). Second class: One at a time will walk to judge, halt, walk again, halt (leader must allow rider to command horse). Third class: Do a task, like, drop/get reins, drop/get stirrups. We already have an Eq Preview Division (all ages, informal) which is walk, halt, back, 2pt walk, turn small circles, brief sit trot, 2pt walk over poles. Leadline Division would be a "practice" to prepare for the Eq Preview. Any thoughts? Our first show is March 23. Would like to decide by end of February. We also have Pre-Short (12 & under) and Pre-Long (13 & over, including adult ammys) Divisions (formal attire): walk, halt, back, 2pt walk, post trot, 2pt post trot, 2pt trot over poles. Let me know! Autumn Olive Farm has done a new prizelist for 2024, including a new division along with other edits throughout. Please read new prizelist and contact Syndi with any questions.
