Good morning and Happy New Year!

I am waking up safe in shock this morning after going to sleep following an amazing day in the city I love so much. I watched an awesome parade, concerts, and a beautiful fireworks display. There was a major police presence everywhere when we were out and at no point did I feel unsafe.

All of our local friends and those directly involved in our tour starting Friday are also safe. While I am so grateful for that, I am heartbroken for those not so fortunate.

This event of someone driving their truck through barricades happened on the corner of Bourbon Street and Canal around 3:15AM. The FBI is now calling it a terrorist attack and news reports assuming an isolated incident. The city is advising to stay away from the area that is a crime scene, but they are encouraging everyone else to continue as normal and are still investigating.

Prayers for all affected today as this is such a senseless act and awful loss of life that no one should have to suffer.

I know Egypt is on a lot of people‘s bucket lists and there’s no better way to visit it than with a cool group of people and a cruise down the Nile in former King Farouk’s boat built in 1917 … trust me… Not to mention exclusive access to the great pyramid. We will be headed back there in October to see all of our friends and visit our favorite spots.

You may have read Stacey Ludwig‘s article in our last newsletter about travel being the perfect holiday gift. If you are interested in purchasing a trip for someone, I would be more than happy to create a fun printable for you so you could put it in a card and therefore still have something for someone to unwrap! We have a lot of great trips coming up which still have spaces for awesome people in them.

I’m not sure how this happened, but we still have a potential of two spaces for our Venice tour with Thomas Madden in late April. I absolutely LOVE Venice!
