Please share your hunting stories and photos here on Facebook. This is a great opportunity to help each other become better hunters and stewards of our great natural resource. For some it is all about the trophy, for others it about the experience o

f “deer camp” and the hope of bagging anything with horns or it may be about teaching your children/grandchildren how to hunt! At the end of the day when you shoot that buck, spike horn or a HOG, it is a trophy in your eyes. This forum is created for sharing and bragging! But is also a great way to learn from each other. Please share!

Your trusted resource for the freshest whitetail scents on the market. At Wag's we keep it simple. We don't try and fool you with gimmicks or ridiculous claims. You get the most premium product in every bottle!

Just a FYI post. We have just started collecting and bottling Scrape. For the 2022 Fresh Scrape bottles we are going back to the 4oz Bullet's because they were popular.

Wags dealers throw away ALL leftover product "if there's any left which is rare or a few bottles at most" at the end of each season or I personally pick them up and they are credited!

NOBODY should see last years shorter bottle as seen in this photo! I'll give heads up very soon to who is starting to be stocked... Season is coming quick, dang this summer flew bye!

REMINDER TO ALL SQUIRREL HUNTERS!
Mepps wants to buy your squirrel tails! [Please leave the bone in the tail!] We'll pay you cash or double the cash value in Mepps lures.

Roadkill as unfortunate as it is, can be a good way to harvest squirrel tails. Mepps President, Mike Sheldon was cruising the country roads around our factory in Antigo, WI when he came across a fox squirrel that didn't make it across the road. Instead of letting the roadkill go to waste, Mike took the roadkill off the road and brought the tail to Mepps. This is a great example of re-purposing a natural resource that otherwise would not have been used for anything else.

[For More Info on the Mepps Squirrel Tail Program, Click Here] http://www.mepps.com/squirrels

***Mepps is only interested in recycling tails taken from squirrels that have been harvested for the table. We do not advocate taking squirrels strictly for their tails.***

First, hope everyone is doing OK and made it to the other side (or making it) of this week's extreme weather events unscathed.

Today's tip is as straight forward as it gets. I'll be ordering Trophy Clover next week or the week after. Nope, it isn't because I wouldn't be shocked if I could turn dirt and plant within the month, as I can believe near anything weather related, these days.

Nope, I'm ordering clover for frost seeding into existing stands, at 25-50% suggested planting rate (25 on lusher stands, 50 on the weakest, yet salvageable stands), simply to keep them charged. When frost seeding into last years' annual crops (brassicas, cereal rye, corn, beans), I go about 125% suggested seed rate, to create new stands.

If interested in learning more about frost seeding clover, simply google it and you'll come up with a ton, and it's pretty darn straight forward and a nearly foolproof method of establishing and maintaining lush stands of clover. Mow them a couple times a year, spray for grasses once or twice, fertilize a couple weeks before season starts and I can use this frost seeding method to literally get as many years out of a clover stand as I want, with some currently sitting around 15 years running. Frankly, the biggest issue is staying on top of a few of the tougher to kill weeds, so they don't take over the plots.

1960's photo of the Eagle Hotel, Downsville, NY, during deer season. Deer were always hung from the second story porch by hunters staying at the hotel.

Let's keep those successful hunt photos coming!

Getting to them! Okay I Wana give a big congrats out to Logan A. On taking this buck way back on Sept 22nd.Logan uses and spills more Wags than most .... Well " anyone". He'll lie but I bet he had 20oz " I meant 2 oz" of Intruder Buck out if I was a betting man. He's a walking buck magnet! He's usually running my filling machine while I'm capping when done with collections. So if your bottle smells it's his fault.. Lol

Wisconsin hunters have been feeding hungry communities for 21 years through their participation with the DNR Deer Donation Program.

Over the years, they've donated over 94,000 deer: That’s 3.8 million pounds of ground venison given to hungry communities in need.

Consider donating a deer this year. It's free and simple to participate. You can even keep the head and/or antlers for mounting. Most importantly, you’ll know the venison is going to feed a neighbor in need.

Learn more and find a participating processor near you at https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/hunt/donation.html
