A gap year of fun and freedom, travel, and some work, seeing new parts of the world you wouldn’t normally think of. We have been married for 25 years and have 4 beautiful children. We met on a tropical island on the Great Barrier Reef, fell in love instantly, and the story began. We have always been travellers in our dreams and as practically as we could raising our family at the same time. Tracey
holds a teaching degree, a Science Degree majoring Pych, and recently a Tesol qualification (Teaching English to speakers of other languages). Mark in business as a senior executive specialising in Telecommunications and IT, also in an early career travelled the world as a Director of a specialist Travel Company to the entertainment industry. Within us both we want to see the places we haven't, places that requires a degree of youth and adventure, no cruises just yet. We share a love of creating homes reflecting different world styles of architecture and decor and have renovated over 12 properties, producing a good income "Pre GFC". Now is the time to travel. GrannyGapYear is a novel adaption of the traditional gap year whereby students, disengaging from curricular education, take time-out (not necessarily 12 months) in order to undertake non-curricular activities such as travel and work before returning home to embark on the serious business of tertiary studies. Similarly, GrannyGapYear marks this ‘in-between’ period of time or life stage before taking on the next level of responsibilities. For those on a GrannyGapYear, however, that would typically be before grand children come along.
