“FACES of Trinity County” – Workshop for Kids
Photographing the many faces of Trinity County is the theme of a fun program being offered to the youths of Trinity County ages 7 to 16. This summer event is being presented by The Trinity County Arts Council, the Trinity Trust Summer Youth Program, and The Daniel Holthaus Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Day 1, Sept. 23, 11:00 to 1pm, Barking Mad Art Studio in Weaverville and 2:30 at the Trinity County Fairgrounds in Hayfork. Children will learn the basic skills of photography, including the general rules of lighting, creative framing, and camera handling. They will then have one week to capture “Faces”. A “Face” is the random placement of objects that suggests a face.
Day 2, Sept. 30, 11:00 to 1pm, Barking Mad Art Studio in Weaverville and 2:30 at the Trinity County Fairgrounds in Hayfork. A second workshop will give the participants a chance to share their photos with each other and learn how to crop and frame their best “Face”.
These framed pieces will then be on display at the Oct. 7 Art Cruise in the Trinity County Chamber of Commerce and in a local business in Hayfork.
Children need to bring a camera/cell phone.
