King of the Winter Sky - 360 panorama

During winter time in northern hemisphere the central parts of the Milky way is way below the horizon. Instead the most interesting things in the sky is away from the core and around the constellation of Orion, an area full nebulosity.

Normally I stay away from the moon but this night it was up and setting together with Venus and Mars.

And we are still waiting for the sea to freeze up as the humidity is pretty high right now. The SQM reading later this night was 21.62

he splendors of a starry sky have been filling us with wonder since the dawn of civilization. Today, many of us look up into the nighttime heavens and are lucky to see just a handful of stars. “Hey, what are those twinkling things in the sky?” Oh yeah, stars!

Kicking light pollution to the curb, these parks are dedicated to exceptional starry skies and natural nocturnal habitats.

"Alpine Start"

Just returned from a few days high up on Mount Robson. Unfortunately unseasonably warm temperatures forced us to turn around part way up the Kain Face.

Still, amazing to spend time with the king of the Rockies and I think I gathered lots of great new images for Canadian Alpine Guides. We even woke up to fine aurora high up on the Dome on the night of our summit bid (yesterday morning).

More images coming soon!
