Our 2nd email "What are your tee boxes telling about your golf course" went out 10/15/21 and will go out again this coming week. This is a monthly campaign that J2Golf is running for us, in a 3 state area. last month it was about "Pace of Play". Hope to enlighten a few golf courses and do a few consults. Love helping golf courses do a better job presenting themselves.

Our web host, J2Golf created an email campaign for our target area and "Vertical Response" showed us what "Negative" response they can be. Trashed 2 days worth of John's work. What morons. DO NOT USE 'VERTICAL RESPONSE" for your email company.

Now they are talking about relaxing the "grounding club" rule in sand bunkers. At the rate they are going, before I die we will all just sit in the clubhouse and make up our golf scores. Never actually go out on the golf course.

Seems that we as golfers and golf course designers/builders have held on to the mystic of the long drive far to long. Show me your golf courses 90 yard holes.

Managing a good golf course includes ALL of it's clientele. Realizing slow play is also a reflection of course conditioning. Course fairway width, green speed, actually maintaining tee times, along with delaying opening after rain, frost, etc. A golf course should be setup for ALL players. Remember the low handicappers have the blue tees! And the others pay green fees too! Latest NGF newsletter states that although rounds of golf are up, overall we have fallen in some areas. That is a comparison of over the years. Golf has always been subject to a critical viewpoint, mostly from those who do not give it a chance. It simply takes many rounds and a deep commitment to get to the point of enjoying and developing the skill to enjoy.

On my website, one does not see a long list of golf courses designed and built, because I give you truth. My preference is privately owned, member only golf retreats, and as natural as possible, away from the chaos of the urban scene. What is now referred to as “minimalist golf architecture”. The way golf was in the beginning. The way golf was meant to be.

Golf course management, both on the business end and on the maintenance end, are areas we may be able to assist golf course operators.
