It's not advisable to travel during the coronavirus outbreak.

But if you really have to travel overseas, remember to take precautions and be safe.

1. Clean hands is better than wearing a mask, so keep your hands clean all the time by washing with soap and using sanitizers.

2. Check your travel insurance for coverage.

Belitung island is an underrated paradise and a perfect destination for an affordable weekend getaway. We recommend a 3D2N trip here.

At Pulau Batu Belayar, you can spot starfish here. Ahem, we mean, starfishes. These creatures can be found aplenty on the island. Once you are done having pictures with the beautiful starfishes, you could just simply float on the clear seawater and enjoy a day of doing nothing. That sounds pretty perfect to us.

Another island you must visit is Pulau Lengkuas. There is an ancient lighthouse that was built by the Dutch in 1882. For many years now, it’s been guiding the boats around the area. You can climb up the 50-meter tall tower and enjoy a panoramic 360°view of the island. Pulau Lengkuas has a rich marine life which makes it a great snorkeling destination too.

Getting there: You can get to both of the islands by a short boat ride from Tanjung Kelayang. AirAsia operates 4 flights a week to Belitung. Also, check out our previous post on Kaolin Lake if you have not.

Hey WildXplorers, what if we tell you that you can experience a white Christmas without the cold? And without flying halfway across the world?

Introducing to you: Kaolin Lake located in Belitung Island, Indonesia.

There is an abandoned kaoline or white clay mine that has been transformed into a hotspot for travellers. After the mining activities ceased, the land has been dredged and filled with rain water which created a beautiful artificial lake.

Good news! There are AirAsia direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Belitung and prices are very affordable. Don't say we didn't tell you. 😏

Remember our previous post about Chiang Mai's very own grand canyon? Well, we have another reason for you to add Chiang Mai on your bucket list.

You can actually see cherry blossoms here. Yes you heard us right, Thailand can satisfy your cherry blossom craze at a fraction of cost compared to Japan.

There's a hillside village on the north of Chiang Mai called Baan Khun Chang Kian where you can spot cherry blossoms.

You’ll only be able to view the Sakura flowers during the colder season, which is between late December to late January. Bring your warm clothings as temperatures can plunge to as low as 9 degrees.

The best way to reach Baan Khun Chang Kian is by hiring a songthaew (red taxi trucks) from Chiang Mai City or Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Alternatively, you can book a day tour from Chiang Mai.

So the next time you’re thinking of booking a flight to Japan to see these pretty pink flowers, why not consider travelling to Chiang Mai instead? With cool temperatures and flourishing cherry blossoms PLUS delicious Thai food, do we really need to say any more?

A water park build in an abandoned limestone quarry. The quarry has been empty for many years and was naturally filled with water by monsoon rains.

Luang Prabang, Laos is no longer a travel secret and is getting popular because of its picturesque waterfall known as Kuang Si Falls.

The Kuang Si Falls is a three-leveled cascading waterfall located about 29 kilometers to the south of Luang Prabang city. You can get here by a tuk-tuk or van from the city.

Spend your day here by having a picnic by the falls, swimming in the turquoise pools, hiking to the top and exploring the local market next to the parking area. Don't forget to end the day with some local BBQ delicacies and cold Beer Lao.

From Kuala Lumpur, you can take an AirAsia flight to Luang Prabang via a transit at Bangkok. See you there!

Pandanan beach is one of our favourite beach in Lombok. The locals will usually chill here just before sunset and you will not find many tourist here.

Guys tip: Great place for a romantic evening with your loved one. 😉

Also, we highly recommend that you try the fresh ikan bakar (grilled fish) served with coconut water here.

From Senggigi you can reach Pandanan beach within 15 minutes by car or motorbike.

Lombok is a waterfall paradise.

Benang Stokel & Kelambu Waterfalls are located in central Lombok. There are 5 different waterfalls to visit there!

How to get there?
About an hour and a half drive from Kuta or 40 mins drive from Senggigi. You can easily find it in google maps or hire a driver.

Entrance Fee
50,000 IDR- 150,00 IDR if you want a guide. Renting a scooter will cost additional 35,000 IDR.
If you feel adventures you can always explore on your own, it’s quite an easy hike.
