There is a misconception about the Walt Disney World theme parks that they are only for kids … that is most definitely false! 🤯

Although there are plenty of offerings for young travelers and families, there is something to get those thrill seekers excited at each park as well! 🎢

It’s officially the (not so) spookiest time of the year and therefore, time for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! 🎃

Here are a few tips you need to know about this years event:

👻 Arrive Early: the party begins at 7pm but ticket holders can get into the Magic Kingdom beginning at 4pm - some character meeting and greets may open the line before the party starts giving you a head start!

👻 Prioritize Exclusive Ride Offerings: ride attractions such Mad Tea Party or Space Mountain to eerie Halloween sounds that fit the theme! You can also find live actors on the Pirates of the Caribbean adding to your experience. Don't forget to ride Haunted Mansion as it is a Halloween Party after all - the happy haunts may even materialize to speak to guests as you wait! (TRON Lightcycle/Run will be open for the party with the virtual queue opening at 6pm)

👻 Eat Before the Event: you want to be completely energized during your party time while also not wasting precious party time enjoying a full meal. However, there are plenty of exclusive food and beverage offerings you’ll want to try during the party hours - mobile order these when available to save time waiting in line!

👻 Stay Up Late: The crowds tend to thin out after the fireworks so if you can stay out - stay out! The later stage show and second parade will also be less busy!

Walt Disney World hotels all have large and beautiful pools that guests love to splash around in to take a break from the Florida sun. ☀️However, there are some pools I find families just seem to like a little more based on how much the kids enjoy the fun and interactive elements. 🏊‍♂️

My top pools for families with younger children to visit are:

💦Disney’s Art of Animation Resort - splash around with Nemo and Friends in the Big Blue Pool! 🐟🐠 Here you will also find the Schoolyard Sprayground splash pad area which is perfect for younger children to enjoy interactive water play with gentle jets, spouts, and playful elements!

💦Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort - at this resort you will find two water slides for guests of all ages but also the Shipwreck Water Play Area which offers an exciting and themed water play experience perfect for families looking to cool off and have fun in a tropical setting. 🏴‍☠️The centerpiece of the water play area is a large pirate ship replica, complete with slides, water cannons, and interactive elements. Kids can climb aboard and imagine sailing the high seas.

💦Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter - over at Doubloon Lagoon you will find a whimsical Mardi Gras theme, complete with a large sea serpent slide and a shallow splash area adjacent to the main pool. 🟡🟢🟣 This splash area is perfect for toddlers and young children to splash around in a safe and fun environment.

💦Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts - this tends to be the most popular pool area at Walt Disney World and for good reason! Here you will find a sand bottom pool, lazy river, water slides and kids splash area! 🏖️

💦Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge - Located on the Kidani Village side of is the Samawati Springs Pool! Here you will find a very large pool as well as a 128-foot waterslide, a mini-slide, and a zero-depth entry but the highlight has to be the Uwanja Camp for younger ones to play! This water playground consists of multiple sprinklers, spitting snacks, water buckets and more. 🐍
