A break from the barrage of snowfall and awaiting the next storm while admiring the impressive HS here in the beautiful Japanese Alps.

It’s been a season to remember in Nagano and Niigata. Looking forward to what the next month brings.

While most of the deep snow is in Myoko, Hakuba and Niseko so far this season, we’re finding some great turns here in Central Hokkaido and around Sapporo. Thanks to trip guest for capturing these great shots of our team in action this week!

The Hakuba Valley after a nice December snowstorm bringing roughly 80cm (2.6 feet) to the base areas of most ski areas.

Upper elevations reporting well over a meter (3.28+ feet).

Is it January yet?!!

Corralco Ski Resort in southern Chile is having a monster ski season. This is Cumbre t-bar at 2400 meters yesterday, September 26, 2024.

Big storms continue to hammer The Andes as we head into Spring. Stay tuned for more updates as ski touring season really starts to get underway here on Chile’s volcanoes and into Patagonia.

Closing dates for most major ski resorts in South America.

It’s been a big season in the Andes with early openings, record breaking storms and another big system dropping deep snow as we speak.

Regardless, it’s that time of year where skier demand slows, many locals start thinking about the beach, hiking, mountain biking and making out in the green grass of the city parks.

Here are the official closing dates for most ski destinations in Chile and Argentina:

Snowboarding in August is always a blast. Great to be back in Bariloche, Argentina.

June 18th in Las Lenas, Argentina with 2 more feet of fresh snow overnight. Who's thinking it's time to change your summer plans and chase snow in South America?

Best start in decades and another very active week ahead for Chile and Argentina. Some ski resorts could see another 5-6 feet by Friday. We have a few spots available in July for anyone looking to chase powder in the Andes.

Good morning from Las Leñas ski resort in Argentina. I large snowstorm is currently hammering the Central Andes of Chile and Argentina. Stay tuned for more updates.

Still trying to wrap our heads around all of this early (very early) snowfall in parts of Chile and Argentina. This was shot yesterday at the based of Catedral Ski Resort in Bariloche, Argentina. Thanks @informeblanco for the clip. More snow in the forecast this week! If you are thinking about skiing in South America this summer, get in touch for ski resort packages or guided tours.

From April 23-May 1 we are setting sail for an incredible backcountry adventure in the Lyngen Alps of Norway. We have just one spot remaining. Get to know our vessel! The Vulkana was built in 1957, designed for seasonal fishing. In 2009, architect Sami Rintala carefully redesigned the vessel, utilizing her traditional shape. Where once 60 tons of cod were stored, there is now a Japanese inspired Zen Lounge and a Turkish hammam. The main deck features a wood-fired sauna, and a restaurant that seats up to 12. A viewing deck and a hot tub are available on deck.
