Something simple. When it’s warmer out I always have these stocked in the freezer for a quick snack/ treat.
Graham crackers, cool whip& peanut butter. Freeze and enjoy!

When picking strawberries:
Look for a bright red color with a fresh looking green top. Avoid berries with white tops or tips.
Strawberries don't ripen once picked.

Producers are busy...they purchased seed last month and have been planting seeds that are growing in green houses, high tunnels and under grow lights. There are things you, as a consumer, can do as well to prepare for the upcoming season.
First, be aware of what is in season and purchase more than you may need. You can preserve the extra either by freezing it or canning.

We're at the mid-month point in October. Two more weeks left for most Farmers Markets. And the markets are filled with wonderful fall produce! Last Saturday I got tomatoes from Homegrown Gardens.
