Long Post Alert ~ Update on my crazy life 🤪

For those who care to tag along on my crazy adventure called life, buckle up, hone in, and hear ye, because I have EXCITING news at the end! 🙌🏼 As a quick recap, it’s been 4 years since I got out of the Navy and almost 10 years since I graduated HS and moved away. I love visiting home, but I always thought, “Out of all 50 states, my parents decided to settle down in Missouri...” lol no ma’am. 🤣

Life after the military has been pretty good. Of course, everyone is faced with their challenges, so there has been that roller coaster effect at times. I was in the process of moving abroad when COVID-19 closed the borders, so my journey took a different path. I moved down to South Carolina, got a little accent, learned how to cook WITH seasoning (no Mom, BBQ sauce is NOT enough spice), and eventually got a job at a non-profit running a food pantry. I got my Bachelor's degree in HR Management back in 2020 and have been enrolled at Liberty University working on my Master’s degree to become a Clinical Mental Health Therapist! 💪🏼 I recently accepted a new position at the non-profit and became the Marketing and Media manager. I found a new passion in this realm of work. The creativity, freedom, community outreach, and engagement, everything seemed to be more my speed.

Looking back when my dad was in hospice care, he told me one thing he regretted in life was not traveling as much as he would have liked. He lost an 11-year battle with cancer at the age of 51 just 3 years ago and I have been doing my best to fulfill his advice and travel as much as I can. I think he knew I was adventurous like him and wanted to show his support. ❣️

With that being said, I am yet again taking his advice and following my dreams of living abroad! 🙌🏼🎉 I will be listing my house after the holidays and moving to Cluj-Napoca, Romania (pictured above/below is the city's “Old Town” downtown area with buildings and architecture dating back to the 1700-1800s) in Eastern Europe. Keeping my house as a rental wasn’t an option because it is too old, large, and requires round-the-clock maintenance… Ain’t nobody got time for that! 🤣 My plan is to get an apartment and make Romania my home for a year or so while I travel throughout Europe and continue my education online. What's life going to look like for me now? Well for my degree plan, I have about 1-1.5 years until I need to begin my internship & practicum back in Charlotte, NC, and hopefully, the buying market will be a little better then! 🤞🏼Now that I work in Marketing, I get to maintain certain aspects of my job and work part-time remotely. I plan on organizing a handful of group trips throughout Europe while living there and then eventually moving back to the Carolinas to work as a therapist.

Traveling has always been a huge passion of mine, especially learning the culture and living like the locals. I am excited about this journey and look forward to bringing others along with me, even if it’s just virtually!
